    Vertical Sync: Off

    This article describes in as much detail as possible all the working methods for optimizing the PUBG game. If your hardware is too weak and cannot handle the game, then by reading this guide you can increase FPS and remove lags.

    Nothing to do with the simplest thing, you need to close all programs, folders, videos, etc. which could somehow load the RAM and processor. Identify all unnecessary programs in the Task Manager. Disable your antivirus for a while, turn it off altogether, since almost all antiviruses eat up a lot of RAM. After you disable all unnecessary programs, we begin optimizing the PUBG game.

    Why does PUBG lag and FPS jump?

    Since PUBG is still in test mode, and not the entire process of the game has been adjusted, you may experience problems with the game, in particular, FPS drops or lags. Perhaps you do not have enough RAM or a weak PC. Below we have written detailed instructions for optimizing game processes.

    Setting up graphics in PUBG

    Before setting up PUBG, we need to know which parameter does what. Go to the Settings section and select the Graphics tab, in it we will see:

    • Quality– automatic adjustment of graphics display quality;
    • Screen scale – controls screen resolution;
    • Smoothing- is responsible for the effect of “jaggedness” and smoothing out unevenness in the picture;
    • Post-processing- actions to transform the drawing of a three-dimensional scene after its processing;
    • Shadows- shadow display quality;
    • Texture- controls the quality of display of texture patterns and drawing of objects;
    • Effects- controls the quality of effects from bullets, shrapnel, water, etc.;
    • Foliage- controls the quality of visualization of leaves on trees and bushes;
    • Visibility range- controls the range of drawing objects located in the distance (objects, trees, players, etc.);
    • Motion blur- controls image blur during sudden camera movements;
    • Vertical Sync- if everything shakes when you move (pubg motion blur), then you need to enable this function.

    Once we've figured out which parameters do what, we can make a list of which items have the most impact on the game's display graphics. And based on this, make the optimal settings for pubg.

    Impact of graphics settings on FPS:

    • Screen scale - high
    • Antialiasing - high
    • Post-processing - high
    • Shadows - high
    • Texture - medium
    • Effects - high
    • Foliage - average
    • Visibility range - average
    • Motion Blur - Medium
    • Vertical Sync - Low

    If you have weak hardware and your game is lagging, then we provide you with lists of graphics settings.

    We recommend setting all parameters to very low, with the exception of screen scale, visibility range and texture. For what? These graphics settings are for optimal rendering in the game, which will allow you to see in the distance not only large objects, but also players.

    There is another option for optimal game settings:

    We recommend setting the parameters to very low, with the exception of screen scale and visibility range. For what? Read the point above. Of course, you can set the screen scale and rendering to medium quality.

    If you still experience lag, then you need to make external settings.

    Driver for PUBG nVidia

    Since PUBG is in early access, your best bet is to update the drivers to the latest version. Since video card manufacturers are constantly updating drivers, it is possible that a driver has been released that is more optimized for the game.

    nVidia driver settings for PUBG

    Another way that can increase performance is to configure video card drivers. At the same time, this setting will only work for the game you have chosen, and may increase your FPS.

    Below are two options for setting the NVIDIA video driver for PUBG.

    Automatic optimization

    Tab: Adjust image settings with preview.

    Select: Custom Settings with Focus on: Performance

    These video card settings are aimed at increasing FPS, not graphics.

    Manual setting

    Go to the video driver settings – NVIDIA Control Panel

    Managing 3D parameters - Software settings – Select PUBG, if it is not there, then click add and see TslGame.exe in the list (for mail ru client)

    We make the settings as shown in the screenshots:

    PUBG Launch Options

    If the settings described above did not help you, and PUBG still lags and the FPS is low, then you need to change the game launch parameters. In them you can fine-tune the parameters to increase FPS in pubg.

    Since the game is available on Stem and Mail Center, below we indicate two ways to configure it.

    In Stem:

    • Right click your mouse in PUBG
    • Select Properties
    • Set launch options

    Mail center:

    • Go to the game center
    • Next to the play button there is a check mark - click on it
    • In the pop-up window, select – Game Settings
    • Go to the tab - Launch

    There are many parameters that can be configured at startup, below we will give a detailed description of each value.

    Detailed description of parameters:

    Attention! When choosing the size of RAM, start from the amount of your RAM!

    -maxmem= must be set to your amount of RAM!

    • 3072 (4GB)
    • 6144 (6GB)
    • 7168 (8GB)
    • 11264 (12GB)
    • 13000 (16GB)

    Example of a finished config: -malloc=system -USEALLAVAILABLECORES -nomansky -maxMem=7168 +mat_antialias 0

    PUBG ini file configuration options

    The ini file settings are more in-depth. They can lead to various problems in the game, from crashing to not starting. Recommended in extreme cases and for advanced users.

    GameUserSettings.ini

    The file is located: GameUserSettings.ini in C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\TslGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

    You may have a hidden data file; in the settings, check the box to show hidden files.

    Engine.ini

    Scalability.ini

    The file is located: C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\TslGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

    Video on how to increase FPS in PUBG

    You can watch a video of famous PUBG players setting up the game to increase FPS and reduce lag. Perhaps some of their advice will help you.

    Players have to try their best to make the game work. This guide tells you how to increase Playerunknown's FPS if your FPS is low or unstable. We wrote in the article how to show FPS.

    How to increase FPS in PUBG? Hyde

    Let's start with Windows settings

    • Download the package [Download].
    • First step. Launch Explorer and right-click on the “This PC” button. Properties. Additional system parameters. Performance (Options). We poke to ensure the best performance. If you don’t want to constantly toggle this option, check the boxes next to “Smooth screen font irregularities” and “Display window contents when dragging”
    • Second step. Press the key combination Win + R and write “ msconfig» Go to the Downloads tab and click Advanced options. Check the box next to Number of processors and select the maximum number. We also click on the Maximum memory checkbox, by default the maximum amount will be set, if nothing has changed for you, write with pens the amount of RAM installed in your PC. (If you have 8 GB of RAM installed, write 8*1024= 8192 there)
    • Third step. Unpack from the Unpark-CPU-App archive. Launch UnparkCPU.exe. Click Check Status. If values with the Parked status appear, in this case, click Unpark All. If the values have the status Unparked, then close the program.
    • Fourth step. Click Start and type Settings in the search. Select Personalization. On the Background tab, select a custom color. This will add ~1% fps.
    • Fifth step. Launch CCleaner. Cleaning tab. Click the Analysis button. Click the Clear button. Go to the Registry tab. Click Search for problems. Click Fix. Click Correct marked ones.
    • Sixth step. Download and update to the latest version of the driver for the video card. AMD Drivers or Nvidia Drivers. We wrote more about how to do this in the article.

    Now setting up the game

    • Configs. Press the key combination Win + R and write “ %appdata%»Press Enter and follow the path \AppData\Local\TslGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\ and drag and replace files from the archive (Engine.ini, GameUserSettings.ini, Scalability.ini)

    Steam Settings

    At the next stage we need to go to steam. Right-click on the game and select Properties. Next Set launch options. We enter the following parameters there. You can just copy it.
    [-USEALLAVAILABLECORES -malloc=system –heapsize 2097152]. Click the OK button.
    The heapsize parameter is calculated using the formula: (RAM / 2 * 1024).
    So that you don’t have to worry about calculations, I’ll provide here a table with some OP data.
    If your value is not in this table, you can find it by dividing or multiplying these numbers to the numbers you need. Anyone who has calculated the heapsize value formula for themselves will notice that 1 gigabyte is missing here. I deliberately subtracted it so that the computer would have space to do other things.

    Before each start of the game

    The following action that we will now perform will need to be repeated before each start of the game.
    In the previous steps, we unpacked the archive from the manual into a separate folder. Now you need to go to this folder and install the “memreduct-3.2-setup.exe” program from it.
    What is it for? She monitors the consumed RAM. Because the game has not yet been optimized, it eats up a lot of RAM and after each game it becomes less and less.

    So we installed the memreduct program.
    Let's launch it. First, let's go to settings and select your language. I have Russian. Now let's go to the Memory Cleanup tab. We are interested in the "Memory Management" item here. It has 2 checkboxes that you must check.

    • First parameter Cleaning when full: (%) 85.
    • Second parameter Clean every: (min) 60.
    I would also recommend not setting the Second parameter, but setting up hotkeys (Global).
    Check the box next to Memory clearing: I have the F8 button. After every game I press this button and my RAM is cleared. The game continues to work. And you can safely start the next skating rink.
    The program can be minimized to tray so that it does not bother you.

    We also need to run the file “TimerResolution.exe” from the archive that we downloaded from our manual. In it, press the Maximum button.

    This completes the settings for increasing FPS, now you can start playing.

    Additional notes

    In my config there are settings that change by rewriting the parameters of the files that we transferred with the replacement of Engine.ini, GameUserSettings.ini, Scalability.ini. If you change parameters through the game settings, some values may return to their original positions, but this is not certain. Therefore, if you want everything to remain at maximum, change the parameters in these files.

    Bugs and other problems

    No bugs have been found yet. If you don't like the picture you get after installing this config. Go to settings and set the anti-aliasing option to Medium. I have it this way because I can’t play when everything is jerking. Enjoy the game everyone!

    Many players are complaining about low FPS in the popular game Playerunknown's Battlegrounds. There can be many reasons for this - poor PC performance, incorrect graphics settings, lack of drivers for the video card, poor optimization, etc. In addition, the project is currently at the development stage. Therefore, problems with image smoothness and a low number of frames per second can often arise here. Moreover, in games such as Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds, FPS plays a huge role.

    JOGER decided to take a closer look at this issue and offer several options for increasing productivity. Of course, there are already many ways on the Internet to achieve the desired result. However, most of them are outdated or do not work.

    First way

    It is important to consider that the game was created on the popular and demanding Unreal Engine 4, and therefore the personal computer must have high performance. Before launching Playerunknown's Battlegrounds, it is better to disable applications and third-party programs.

    You also need to install the latest version of Microsoft Visual C++ 2010, DirectX and Microsoft Net framework.

    First of all, you need to compare the minimum and recommended system requirements with the characteristics of your PC. Perhaps the reason for the picture slowdown and low FPS lies in weak hardware. In this case, changing graphics settings, using third-party software and “dancing with a tambourine” will not help here.

    Second way

    You can increase the smoothness of the picture on the screen and the number of frames per second by changing the image quality settings. Battlegrounds Playerunknown's graphics settings are located in the main menu. First of all, you need to disable anti-aliasing and also reduce the drawing distance of the game world. It is necessary to reduce the quality of graphics and detail. Post-processing consumes a large amount of PC resources.

    At the same time, the image quality will remain virtually unchanged. If all these actions did not give any result, you need to set the minimum graphics values. You can also experiment with screen resolution. The lower it is, the higher the performance will be.

    Third way

    You can make the image smoother and improve the graphics using the ReShade application. You need to download the program from the official website, and then select Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds on Steam by checking the box next to DirectX10+. Next, you need to give your consent to install shaders, then uncheck the boxes next to the shaders.

    After installation is complete, ReShade software files should appear in the game folder.

    If something happens, you can delete files without any damage to the game or OS directly in this folder.

    Fourth method

    Another way to improve performance is to check your PC file system for errors. You can do this by using the Memory File Error Checker (SFC.exe). At the end of the test, the faulty file will need to be replaced.

    Let's get started:

    • You need to press the Win+X key combination in turn. After this, you need to select the command line, where the sfc / scannow command will be written. Next, click on the “OK” button;
    • After all these manipulations, a scan of all system files will start. The status of this process can be observed in percentages;
    • Successful completion can be considered the replacement of damaged files by the system with new ones.

    Remember: the command line must be run as an administrator.

    Fifth method

    You can increase the number of frames in the game using the NVIDIA Profile Inspector program. You can do this as follows:

    • Launch the application as administrator;
    • Next, you need to select the Driver Version command from all the parameters of the application that opens. The name of the video card being used has a special icon with settings. By selecting it, you can get to Profile;
    • In the window that opens, you need to select the path to the game that needs to be optimized. It must be absolute, including the client.exe extension. You can save all changes that have been made by the user using the “Apply Changes” button located at the top of the screen;
    • After selecting an item for the game, you need to save the changes made. It is important to find the following item “Threaded optimization” in the list. Here you can find several modes at once;
    • You must click on “OGL THREAD CONTROL IGNORE GET ERROR”;
    • A table will appear next. Click on “Shim rendering mode Options per application Optimus”, then select “SHIM RENDERING OPTIONS DEFAULT RENDERING MODE” from the list;
    • Now you should open Nvidia settings and go to the “3D Settings” tab. After this, select the “Management” section;
    • In the list that appears, you need to find the game that was configured in Profile Nvidia Inspector;
    • Once you've added Playerunknown's Battlegrounds to your list, you need to return to your Profile. Select the SLI compatibility bit parameter from the list. In Artialiasing Behavior Flags click None, and in Memory Allocation Policy you need to click on Aggressive pre allocation.

    The operating principle and algorithm are valid not only for Playerunknown's Battlegrounds , but also other games.

    Sixth method

    Here's how to run Playerunknown's Battlegrounds with the highest performance and lowest graphics quality:

    • Log into your Steam account, then select the desired game and right-click. The game properties will appear on the screen;
    • Next, you need to select the “Set launch options” command. Here you need to write the line –USEALLAVAILABLECORE’S –malloc=system –sm4;
    • After completing all the manipulations, you need to close third-party programs and start the gameplay with minimal parameters (you need to go into the settings and lower the graphics quality).

    Seventh method

    You can increase FPS by getting rid of shadows in the game. You can do this as follows:

    • First, go to this address: C:\Users\???*\AppData\Local\TslGame\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor;
    • Here you need to find a file called Scalability;
    • You need to add the following code to the file.

    r.MSAA.CompositingSampleCount=1

    r.SkeletalMeshLODBias=5

    r.LightFunctionQuality=0
    r.ShadowQuality=0
    r.Shadow.CSM.MaxCascades=0
    r.Shadow.MaxResolution=32
    r.Shadow.RadiusThreshold=0.24
    r.Shadow.DistanceScale=0.1

    r.DepthOfFieldQuality=0
    r.RenderTargetPoolMin=200
    r.Upscale.Quality=0

    r.MaxAnisotropy=0

    r.TranslucencyLightingVolumeDim=1
    r.RefractionQuality=0
    r.SceneColorFormat=3

    r.ParticleLightQuality=0

    After completing all the above steps, you need to save the file and click “ok”.

    Note: the file properties must be set to “read only”. Otherwise, the result will not be achieved.

    Eighth method

    You can improve optimization by disabling certain settings when you launch the application. You need to go to the library from Steam. You need to right-click on the game, and then click on the “Set launch options” command. Next you need to enter the following value “- -USEALLAVAILABLECORES +mat_antialias 0 -malloc=system
    " You need to save the changes and click on “OK”.

    Have you tried all the above methods but did not achieve the desired result? Is the game still laggy and the frames per second still low? In this case, you need to download or update the drivers for the video card. Usually, after this there is a significant increase in FPS.

    It is important to make sure that the Windows operating system does not need to be updated. By doing this, you can update some applications, a large number of libraries, some individual components, and so on. Doing this on your own takes too long and is not entirely convenient. It is better to use a special update service that makes the task easier for the user.

    You can increase the number of frames per second by cleaning the system using special software. The most common are ADWCleaner and CCleaner. These applications are easy to install, manage and configure.

    To improve optimization, you need to download the official patch. By updating the game, you can avoid most of the problems.
