VPN extension for Yandex browser. Browsec VPN for Yandex browser - universal access

Browsec is a browser extension that you should use to surf the web anonymously.

Usage

Everyone thinks about anonymity on the Internet. Some joke about Big Brother, while others try to protect their traffic from tracking and try not to publish personal data. If you belong to the second type, then we recommend that you familiarize yourself with Browsec, which we will now discuss.

Functional

Browsec is an extension, not a standalone program. This solution is available to users who have installed any of the currently most popular browsers on their PC - Chrome, Opera, Mozilla and Yandex Browser. You can download the extension for free from official “markets” or find the installation file on the manufacturers’ website.

In terms of capabilities, this Anonymizer is practically no different from similar products. With its help, you will get access to a list of foreign servers, which you can connect to at any time. It should also be taken into account that servers differ greatly in terms of speed, so it is rational to immediately determine the “fastest” one and use it. In terms of stability, there are no problems with Browsec servers.

When visiting foreign sites, please note that some resources require IP addresses of specific countries. Regarding those sites that you visited before connecting to the VPN, they may consider the transition to another IP suspicious and ask you to enter a captcha or even block access to your account. We also inform you that with the help of Browsec you can access services and web pages blocked in your country. And, of course, the plugin will help reduce the risk of confidential data theft when using public Wi-Fi hotspots.

Key Features

  • a large selection of free VPN servers in different countries;
  • availability of versions for all popular browsers
  • visiting resources blocked by the provider or administrator of the corporate network;
  • preventing online tracking;
  • a simple and clear interface, which, unfortunately, is not translated into Russian.

VPN is an abbreviation for the full name of Internet access technology. Virtual Private Network, which translates to virtual private network. Whereas with a regular Internet connection, user data passes through unencrypted through intermediaries (at least through a provider), when connecting to a VPN, information encrypted and is not transmitted to the final server directly, and through proxy server. It’s through the latter that it happens connection to the Internet, which makes it possible to use this technology for substitution real IP for accessing web resources, blocked in certain territories. Another type of audience that uses VPN services to access the Internet are users who do not want their data to be intercepted by third parties.

Such connections are implemented in different ways, the most convenient of which is to install a special extensions. How to implement VPN in Yandex Browser?

We use FriGate

Free FriGate plugin from a number of analogues stands out for its specificity in the form of an independent decision to use VPN. When the plugin is enabled, unblocked sites are accessible via a regular connection. Mediation server activated only for unavailable resources. This approach allows minimize discomfort when surfing the web due to slow access to sites. The mechanism itself being implemented by tracking the sites opened in the browser window and enabling VPN for those that are on the list provided by the creators of FriGate.

FriGate Light's editorial list includes blocked on the territory of Russia there are torrent trackers, media portals and other sites. For Ukrainian users there is a separate edition - FriGate UA, it has its own preset list, which includes, in particular, the blocked social networks VKontakte, Odnoklassniki, Yandex services, Mail.Ru, and the Kaspersky Lab website.

Install The plugin is available on its official website. Click the link for the selected edition of the extension for Google Chrome.

Follow the link to shop the last one, click here “ Install».

Activation FriGate is carried out using a button on the Yandex Browser toolbar. In a small widget we will see the country flag substitution IP. By clicking on the flag, if necessary, we can change country.

To add your web resources to the preset list of sites for automatically turning on VPN, use the FriGate button to call context menu and choose settings.

In the settings window we work with the column “ Setting up a list of sites": enter new domains into the empty field according to the example of writing the sites available in the list.

Other extensions

The following two extensions are installed from the shop Yandex.Browser. Access to it is provided in the menu section " Add-ons».

Another free extension, Hola, is notable for its huge list of IP spoofing countries. To install it in the search engine inside the store enter the key query according to the name and install it.

Zenmate VPN

The Zenmate extension can also be installed from the Yandex Browser store.

At the same time, they will receive approximately the same thing that most other VPN services will offer them as part of the free provision of services - data encryption, slow servers and a list of IP spoofing limited to 4 countries. Whereas the paid premium edition will have fast servers and a larger list of countries.

How to use Zenmate for free? On the welcome page that will open after installation, click on the inscription “ Try it anywayLimited».

Register.

Then turn on extension using a button on the Yandex Browser toolbar. If necessary change country of IP spoofing.

VPN is the best way to bypass blocked sites that your ISP has blocked. You can also hide information about yourself, change your IP address and transfer data in encrypted form. But for ordinary users, a VPN, first of all, is an opportunity to visit sites that have been blocked and inaccessible in a particular country.

I have encountered this from my own experience. I tested different VPN extensions (add-ons) for the four most popular browsers: Opera, Google Chrome, Yandex Browser and Firefox. I decided to share this useful information with you. Below we look at the best (in my opinion), free (though not all) VPN add-ons for browsers. I’ll also show you how to find and install them in each browser. After installing and activating these extensions, you will be able to visit blocked sites, social networks (VKontakte, Odnoklassniki) and other resources.

A free VPN may not be of high quality. It works slowly and is not stable. Unfortunately it is so. Especially in our time, when these free services are under a lot of pressure. A free VPN is not suitable for regular use. I think you are already convinced of this.

It’s better, of course, to buy some kind of paid VPN.

A few words about what a VPN (Virtual Private Network) is and how it works. This is a virtual private network. If this doesn’t mean anything to you, now I’ll try to explain it in simple language. There are many VPN services, both free and paid. Using some kind of VPN service (configured via browser extension, PC program, Android, iOS), all our traffic goes through the server of this service. There can be a lot of such servers, in each country and several of them (it all depends on the specific VPN service).

We receive the IP address of the server through which we connect. This allows us to access blocked sites, since we change our location on the network, connecting through a server installed in another country (where certain sites are not blocked). All data we transmit or receive is encrypted. Which gives us additional protection, especially when connecting via open Wi-Fi networks.

Sometimes security can be deceiving when using a VPN. Since all our traffic goes through the servers of some company, there is always a risk that this company will use the information that passes through its servers. Therefore, I advise you to use only time-tested and most popular VPN browser extensions. I will talk about these in this article.

It's simple: if in your country the provider has blocked access to some sites (for example, as VKontakte, Odnoklassniki, Yandex and Mail.ru are now blocked in Ukraine), then we simply install a VPN add-on in our browser, turn it on and we can go to sites to which we have been restricted from accessing.

Free VPN for Opera browser

First of all, I will talk about the solution for the Opera browser. For the reason that I myself use this browser, and in this regard it is the best. Why? But because Opera does not need to install any third-party extensions to visit blocked sites. Opera has its own built-in free VPN that works just perfectly!

All we need is to install the latest version of the browser. Then go to “Menu” – “Settings”, to the “Security” tab, and check the box next to “Enable VPN”.

All you have to do is turn on the VPN, and you can access sites that your Internet provider has blocked.

You can change your virtual location. But I advise you to leave "Optimal location".

The developers of the Opera browser are certainly great. Not only is the service free, but it also has unlimited traffic and speed. And it is very convenient to use. And most importantly, you can trust a company like Opera. In any case, this is better than some VPN services that were created a couple of days ago.

If you use the Opera browser, then I think the issue of bypassing site blocking has been resolved for you.

Advice! If it is not very important for you which browser to use, then you can install Opera and visit the necessary sites through its VPN. So as not to search for and install third-party extensions in other browsers.

There are many different VPN extensions for the Google Chrome browser. They can be found and installed from the official store. Let me first show you how extensions are installed in the Chrome browser, and then I’ll show you a few specific extensions that I personally tested in use.

Open the menu, go to More Tools and select Extensions. Then, at the bottom, click on “More extensions”.

A new tab will open with a store of various add-ons for the Chrome browser. You can simply specify VPN in the search, and we will get a list of necessary extensions.

Just click on the "Install" button, and the extension will be installed in the browser. Then, its icon will appear next to the "Menu" button.

Some VPN extensions for Chrome:

I tried many different ones. Each has its downsides. In any case, download speed may decrease.

Installing a VPN in Yandex Browser

To get started, update your browser to the latest version. You can install add-ons in Yandex Browser, including VPN services.

To install an add-on, open the menu, then select Add-ons. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the "Catalogue of extensions for Yandex.Browser" button.

Enter "vpn" in the search. A list of the additions we need will appear.

To install what you need, select it and click on the “Add to Yandex.Browser” button. I recommend trying: Hola Better Internet, ZenMate VPN, TunnelBear, DotVPN - better than VPN. After installation, the extension icon will appear near the address bar (on the right). Most likely, you will need to start the VPN in the add-on settings.

Installing friGate in Yandex Browser

I think this is the best solution. Everything works well, and it is possible to open only some sites that are blocked via VPN. You can create lists and add your sites there. Many blocked sites are added by default. Installing friGate using the method described above will not work. You need to download the extension file and install it.

friGate can be installed and configured in other browsers: Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Chrome.

VPN add-ons for Mozilla Firefox browser

You can also install the necessary extension in the Mozilla Firefox browser. Or configure friGate, which I wrote about above (link is also above).

Go to “Menu” – “Add-ons”.

On the extensions tab, in the search bar we write “vpn”, or the name of a specific extension.

You can go to the full list of extensions by clicking on the corresponding link below.

I checked Hotspot Shield Free VPN Proxy, Hoxx VPN Proxy, ZenMate Security and Privacy & Unblock VPN.

Hotspot Shield works immediately after downloading and turning on. Hoxx and ZenMate require registration.

After installing VPN, blocked sites will open in Mozilla Firefox. If you don’t like the download speed or stability, you can try another add-on.

Afterword

Don't get carried away with installing everything. Remember, it may not be safe! Look at the rating, reviews, number of installations of the extension.

Of the free solutions, I liked the built-in VPN in the Opera browser, and friGate, which can be installed in almost every browser.

Whatever VPN service you use, it has its disadvantages and inconveniences. He needs to be watched (enable or disable), speed and ping may also drop. It is possible that the server through which you are connecting may malfunction.

Don't forget to write comments. Share your advice, opinions, and ask questions.

Additional Information

Free VPN isn't just limited to Browsec. The fact is that it is one of the most reliable and proven among experienced Internet users. As an alternative, we can recommend Hola for Yandex browser. The operating principle of the presented program is identical to that used in Browsec. Both options are distributed online completely free of charge.

With Hola (analog), you can easily access various resources with multimedia content, and you can easily listen to music, watch videos and much more. You can also easily change the countries from which your connection will be streamed. For stability, users choose the USA. If any thread does not allow you to access the desired site, you can click the No, fix it button, which will instantly switch you to another country and send the request directly to the developers.

A constant tracking system helps highlight the top most visited sites in the world. You can go to popular resources with just 1 click and discover something new! If you are not interested in these options, simply delete them by placing the shortcuts in the trash. Everything is done very simply and conveniently. To do this, it is enough to know which browser extension to choose and how to install it.

This software is distributed completely free of charge, just like regular antiviruses. There is no specific law regarding VPN - there are no systems, so the answer may seem twofold. In any case, the path from legal use to prison time is limited solely by the user's imagination. If you are just going to visit your favorite site that has been blocked, there is nothing wrong with that. Moreover, they won’t even be able to track you.

There are a number of countries (for example, Iraq and Iran) where VPN is under government ban. There you can get a real prison sentence for such cases. As for our country, you can use the system without any problems, but what you look for there remains solely on your conscience and responsibility.

If you have any questions or difficulties, write to me about it in the comments, we will definitely discuss it.
