How to remove an app that won't uninstall on Android? The "Delete partition" field is not active.

After I wrote the articles How to add space to the system disk (drive C) + video And How to merge local disks in Windows7 + video , I started receiving messages from readers about what they had The "Delete partition" field is not active. Why does this happen... In this article I will tell you in what cases this happens and how to make the Delete section field active.

The "Delete volume" line is not active due to the page file.

One of the reasons when The Delete volume field is not active- this is the use of the volume for the swap file.

If in Disk Management in the "Status" field next to the disk that you want to delete or expand it says "Swap file", then you will not be able to delete or expand the volume. First, you need to remove the paging file from the disk, and then work with it.

The "Delete partition" field is not active.

Another case is that you deleted a volume and then want to delete a partition, but the “Delete partition” line is not active.

This has to do with hard drive partitions. If the partition you want to delete is surrounded by a green frame, and there are volumes inside the partition, then first you need to delete all the volumes, and then you can delete the entire partition. Those. delete all volumes surrounded by a green frame, in this case volume D. After this, you will have a partition of size “volume D” + free space with which you can continue to work, for example add space to C drive . As you can see, a section is a broader concept than a volume. Partitions are made up of volumes, or a partition can consist of one volume.

Every mobile phone owner sooner or later faces a situation where applications on Android are not deleted, and what should you do? If we were talking about an application built into the firmware, everything would be clear, because to remove them you need to have root rights. But what to do if you can’t remove a regular application? Despite the fact that it was downloaded to the device by the user himself.

Not long ago we already told you how to reboot an Android device. At the same time, an application called Volume Unlock was shown. It allows you to turn on the device by pressing the volume button. During operation, this application is assigned administrator rights, and therefore it cannot be easily removed.

Let's tell you how it's done. First, you need to enter the settings and find the “Application” section there.

We activate it, and a list of all applications opens. You need to select the one you need from it (for us it’s Volume Unlock).

And we see that the delete button is not active. Problem? Yes, but it can be solved.

How to delete a non-deletable file (application) on Android, to do this you need to:

Go to Google Play and type “uninstall” (without quotes, of course) or uninstaller into the search engine. Selected by Rhythm Software, you need to download and install it on your device. It's small in size and you don't have to pay to download it. Also, no additional rights are required.

The installed application opens. A list of all applications installed on the device appears. Select the one you need and click on it, as a result of which it will be highlighted. Next, the “Delete selected applications” button is activated. You should look for it at the top of the screen.

We confirm our intention to delete, and receive a notification from the system that the package cannot be deleted because it has been selected for administration. Place the cursor over “Administration Settings” and click.

In the window that opens, the check mark next to the application is removed.

Another window will open. In this case, the application must have administrative rights disabled. To do this, click on the “Disable” button.

This can happen to anyone - when you try to delete an application, it turns out that it is impossible to delete it. Moreover, in this case we are not talking about a built-in application in the firmware, which cannot be removed without root rights, but about the most common one, which you installed on your device.

For example, some time ago we talked about this and also showed an application called Volume Unlock, thanks to which you can turn on the device by pressing the volume up button. When running, the application receives administrator rights, so there is no easy way to remove it. But let’s show you clearly what it looks like.

Go to settings and find the “Applications” section.

Here we see a list of applications. Select the one you need (in our case, Volume Unlock).

And what do we see? That's right, the "Delete" button is inactive.

If you encounter a similar problem, no problem, it can be solved. To do this, go to Google Play and type in the search the word “uninstall” (without quotes) or uninstaller. Select an application from Rhythm Software and install it. This is an extremely small free application that does not even require additional rights.

After installing the application, open it and see a list of all installed applications. Select the one you need by tapping on it once, and then click on the “Delete selected applications” button, which is located at the top of the screen.

We agree with the deletion and see a window in front of us in which it is written: “It is impossible to delete the package because it is selected for device administration." Click “Administration Settings”.

A window opens and uncheck the application.

In a new window, disable the application’s administrative rights by clicking on the “Disable” button.

After this, we get to the application page and see that the “Delete” button is activated.

Click on it and the application is deleted.

Of course, this way you can remove virus applications that cannot be removed in the usual way. To remove system applications, you must have root rights.

Second way

For this method, we thank the user with the nickname Android, who in the comments suggested a less complicated method for removing such applications. He talked about another method that requires enabling USB debugging. A user with the nickname Valery reported that you can use this method without USB debugging, for which we thank him. And yet, we show an example with USB debugging - just in case. We advise you to immediately open the “Security” section (see the last three screenshots) and if this does not help, try enabling USB debugging.

Go to settings. Here, find the “About phone” (or “About tablet”) section.

After opening this section, it will appear in the settings:

Go into it and check the box next to “USB Debugging”.

Here you will see a check mark for an application that cannot be removed in the usual way.

Simply uncheck the box, then click Disable.

The application can now be uninstalled as usual.
