Key words: LG account, how to log into your lg smart tv account, Connect your LG account,

I thought for a long time about how to start this article, but then I realized that this is not an essay, but an instruction :) Therefore, let’s get straight to the point!

In this article I will show you how to set up the technology DLNA, (on LG TVs it is called Smart Share) and directly from your TV access movies, photos and music that are on your computer. This is a very useful feature. And if you have a TV that supports network connection and DLNA technology, then you should definitely take advantage of it.

Here's an example: Do you have a movie or photos on your computer that you would like to view from your TV? How to do this? Yes, you can, for example, use an HDMI cable to connect a TV to a computer, but it will just be like a monitor, and there may not be a cable.

You can also download the movie to a flash drive, connect it to the TV and start the movie. Yes, but here you need a flash drive, you need to copy information. It’s much easier to go from the TV to a folder on your computer and just start a movie from there, or look at photos.

Before we start setting up, I want to briefly tell you what DLNA and Smart Share are.

DLNA(in its own words) is a technology that allows devices that are connected to the same network and support DLNA technology to exchange media content (video, photo, music).

Now, almost all devices support DLNA technology: computers, TVs, smartphones, game consoles, etc.

Smart Share is a proprietary application (technology) of LG. If you can say so, then this is a kind of shell for working with DLNA. Other TV manufacturers call these programs differently. U Samsung - AllShare. SONY – VAIO Media Server.

For example: You can watch photos on your TV that are on your smartphone. I will write about this in one of the following articles. This article is strictly dedicated to setting up DLNA between a computer (laptop, no difference) and TV. Let me remind you that the TV must be able to connect to the network.

Setting up DLNA (Smart Share) between PC and TV

We need (required) that our TV and computer (I have a laptop) be connected to the same network. What does it mean? This means that both the TV and the computer must be connected to the same router.

It doesn't matter how they are connected. The TV can be connected via Wi-Fi ( how to connect read this article), and . The computer is the same. For example, my TV and laptop are connected to the router via a wireless network.

This can even be done using standard Windows Media Player. Despite the fact that this method has a small disadvantage, we will still consider it.

Setting up DLNA using Windows Media

Just launch Windows Media Player (look for it in the Start menu), click on the tab Flow and check the boxes next to two items:

  • Allow remote control of the player...
  • Automatically allow devices to play my media...

This is all. You can already go to the Smart Share menu on your TV (in case of LG TV) and watch all media files that are located in shared folders: Music, Videos and Images.

Add your movie folder to Windows Media Player

If you configure the server via Windows Media, then only standard folders with videos, music and images will be displayed on the TV. And the contents will accordingly be reflected only from these folders. In order not to copy the necessary movies and other files to these standard folders, we can add the folders we need to the library, and they will appear on the TV. I was told how to do this in the comments.

Open Windows Media Player and click on the button on the left Will organize. Hover over Library management and according to what media content you want to add, select Music library, Video, or Gallery. For example, I want to add a folder with movies, so I select Video.

In the new window, click on the button Add. Select the desired movie folder on your computer (in my case), select it and click Add folder.

In the list you will see all added and standard folders. You can add more, or select the one you need and delete.

All movies or other files that are in the folders that you added to the library should appear on your TV in the DLNA server created by the standard player.

This method is very convenient, as it does not require the installation of special programs.

Setting up Smart Share

Almost every TV manufacturer has a proprietary computer program that allows you to configure access to files (I wrote about this at the beginning of the article). In the case of LG TVs, this program is called LG Smart Share for PC.

We need to download and install this program. You can download from the official LG website (if you have a different TV, then look for similar programs on the manufacturers’ websites). The program is located at the link.

For some reason, from the official website this program loaded very slowly for me. Therefore, I downloaded it from another site. Here I post it on my website - . Version 2.1.1309.1101 (maybe already outdated). It's better to download from the official website.

To install just run the file setup.exe, which is located in the archive, in the folder LG Smartshare PC SW DLNA. The installation is simple, so I will skip this process.

After starting the program, select one of the items: Movie, Photo, Music (for setting up the program, this is not important).

Let’s go straight to settings; to do this, click on the button in the upper right corner Options.

And in the first window, immediately set the switch to position ON(On) .

Go to the next tab My shared files. This is the most important point.

Here we need to add the folders that we want to allow sharing from the TV.

Just click on the folder button (see screenshot below), and select the desired folders whose contents you want to view on the TV. Click Ok for confirmation. Then click the button Apply. The process of adding a folder will begin. If there are a lot of files, the process can take a long time. We are waiting.

After this, our folder will appear in the list of available ones.

This completes the setup of the Smart Share program. If you want, then on the tab My device settings, you can also change the name of the device that will be displayed on the TV.

That's it, the program window can be closed, it will now work quietly and appear on the notification panel. Also, after restarting the computer, the service will start automatically until you turn it off in the settings where you turned it on.

Setting up DLNA on TV (LG Smart Share)

On TV we just go to Smart TV and select Smart Share (unfortunately, I don’t know how to do this on other TVs, or in models without Smart TV).

Go to the tab Connected device. We already have two DLNA servers there. The one in the form of Windows Media Player is a server created in a standard player (first method). You can open it and view the files.

The second DLNA server is the one we created in the Smart Share program. That's what we need. Let's open it.

We see the available folders. To open our folder to which we have opened access, go to the folder All folders.

Open it and run the file we need. In my case, a movie.

That's it! Settings are complete!

Update

If you have any problems with setup, with the Smart Share program, or you, for example, have a different TV, then I have prepared an article on how to set up a DLNA server using the Home Media Server program (UPnP, DLNA, HTTP )". Which we have already talked about more than once in the comments. Here are the instructions -.

Afterword

The article turned out to be long, but this thing can be set up much faster. You only need to configure it once. Then we simply add new files to open folders.

You can run DLNA on multiple computers or other devices. The main thing is that they are connected to the same network.

Best wishes!

Setting up DLNA (Smart Share) on your LG Smart TV. We watch movies and photos that are on the computer updated: September 11, 2014 by: admin

When I first logged into Smart TV on an LG TV, I didn’t immediately understand how to install additional programs and games there. Yes, you can guess that programs need to be installed in the application, and games in Game World. But when I went into these applications, they didn’t even seem to launch, or they wrote something like “no access,” I don’t even remember.

The fact is that it's not that simple. First you need to create an LG account (if you don't have it), log in to the TV using your username and password and only then install the necessary programs.

As for the quantity and quality of programs and games, everything is very scarce (this is my opinion). I found only a few necessary programs for myself, and almost all games require a proprietary Magic Remote. Of course, the list of available programs and games is constantly growing.

Let's start with the fact that your TV must support the Smart TV function and must be connected to the Internet in one of two ways: either.

This article uses the LG 32LN575U TV as an example.

Create an account on an LG TV

We need to register. This can be done as on the LG website (and then just log in with your details on the TV), and directly from the TV itself.

Go to Smart TV and select the profile icon (screenshot below).

Press the button Registration.

Read the user agreement and click Agree (it seems like you have to agree twice).

Enter your email address only indicate a valid address to which you have access. You will need to confirm it. And enter the password twice. If you didn’t succeed in specifying your password the first time, then it’s okay, I didn’t either :) Only when I specified letters and numbers did the system accept the password.

Click Registration.

If everything is fine, the TV will inform you that you need to confirm your registration and offer to open a web browser so that you can log in to your email. But it’s better to refuse, sit down at the computer, go to the mail and follow the link in the letter from LG Complete registration.

On the website you will see a message that your account has been verified and an offer to provide additional information to purchase applications. (if you are going to buy programs, I recommend that you resolve this issue immediately).

Now we return to the TV, if you didn’t touch anything there, then the email address will already be indicated, all you have to do is enter the password (which you indicated during registration) and log into your account, which is what we do.

A message like this will appear (screenshot below), you can select No.

That's it, a green icon should appear next to the profile icon.

Installing applications and games on LG Smart TV

Attention! The list of applications depends on the region that is set in the TV settings on the tab Settings, at point Strange use of Smart TV.

As I wrote above, you can install new games and programs in the already installed LG Smart World and Game World programs.

You can find these programs by going to the mode Smart TV and where there is a list of programs below, you need to press the button More…

If you want to install programs, then launch the application.

Select the desired program. On the left, you can sort them, select, for example, only free ones.

A message appears with the requirements that are required for this application to work. Click OK.

The download and installation status of the program will appear at the top. After installation, the program can be found in the general list in Smart TV, or by pressing the button MY APPS on the remote control.

We install games in the same way. Only in the program Game World. Although LG Smart World also has games.

How to remove a program or game from the TV?

It's very simple. Go to Smart TV and go to the full list of applications. There is a pencil-shaped button at the top, click on it.

Then select the desired application and a menu will appear next to it, click Delete.

Everything, program, or game will be completely deleted.

That's all, I'm waiting for your comments. Best wishes!

How to install programs and games on LG Smart TV? Create an LG account updated: February 7, 2018 by: admin

I was just thinking that I already wrote about connecting a TV to the World Wide Web. But I’ll now write about how to access the Internet from an LG TV that has the Smart TV function. Perhaps this article may seem too simple and unnecessary to some. But I am sure that many will find it useful.

Almost from all TVs that can connect to the Internet and have the Smart TV function, you can visit websites, log into social networks, read Twitter, etc. Yes, yes, even VKontakte can be accessed from the TV while lying on the couch. Here they are – technologies :)

I will write this article using the example of an LG TV (model LG 32LN575U, but that doesn't matter).

A few words about the browser

The browser built into LG TVs is quite decent. It can even play Flash. But he is there to play banners, nothing more. You can launch a video on some website, or a game on a social network. But, most likely, after a while an error will appear: , or something like that.

Navigation, functionality, and browser speed are, as I already wrote, at a decent level. Like for TV.

How to control Internet surfing from TV?

You can control it using the remote control that was included. But this is not very convenient. Then I remembered surfing the Internet from a regular mobile phone, which has buttons (oh, nostalgia 🙂). Controlling the TV browser from the remote control is pretty much the same.

It is best, of course, to connect a keyboard and mouse to the TV. Better yet, a wireless keyboard and mouse. Such control will be the most convenient. If you don’t have these devices, you can control the TV browser from your phone or tablet. Which works on Android, or iOS.

You can also buy a branded LG Magic Remote. From which it will be very convenient to control website viewing. At least it seems so to me :) The last two methods are only suitable for LG TVs.

Connecting your TV to the Internet

It is clear that in order to view websites via Smart TV, the TV itself must be connected to the Internet. You can do it via cable, or you can do it via Wi-Fi, if possible. I wrote more about connection in separate articles:

If everything is fine with the connection, then you can proceed to launch the browser and visit sites.

We visit websites from an LG TV (Smart TV)

To get started, go to Smart TV (by pressing the special blue button on the remote control). Then, at the bottom, select and launch the browser” Internet“.

Please note that on the main page of Smart TV, the icon that displays the Internet connection status should be green. This means that the Internet is working and you can continue.

After launching the browser, you can immediately click on the address bar and use the keyboard to enter the address of the site you want to visit. Or, ask a search query. To confirm the transition to the address, click the button Go on the virtual keyboard, or using the cursor, select one of the options that pop up below.

A website or search results will open, which you can view, follow links, etc. Everything is like on a computer.

In the lower right corner, “ Mini TV“. You can browse websites and watch TV at the same time. If this window bothers you, you can close it. Hover your cursor over it and click on the cross that appears. To return “Mini TV”, click on the button in the form of a TV on the top control panel.

You can open many tabs at the same time. Just click on the green cross to open another tab. In this tab, by default, a panel opens that displays thumbnails of the pages of the most visited sites. A little higher (below the address bar), the bookmarks panel is displayed.

When you have opened a site and want to bookmark it, just click on the corresponding button, which I showed in the screenshot below.

In order to open browser settings, history, bookmark manager and help, just click on the corresponding button and select the desired item. You can also enable full screen viewing, zoom in, and close the browser.

In the settings, you can select the start page, default search engine, enable permanent display of the bookmarks bar, disable Flash, etc.

I just want to give you one piece of advice. I have already seen articles on the Internet several times that a vulnerability was discovered in Smart TV, albeit on Samsung TVs. The data that was entered on the TV could get to the attackers. I now have to enter passwords for different sites, and what’s even worse, payment information.

I hope this vulnerability has been fixed now. But, do not forget that Smart TV on any TV is a new and still somewhat crude technology. So, for now, it’s better not to pay for various services through the TV, and not to enter your payment information. For this, it is better to use a computer.
