The entire package of the smartphone fits into a small oblong box with an inscription that literally translates: “Tomorrow never waits.” Associations with the Russian proverb immediately emerge: “Don’t put off until tomorrow what you can do today.” I understood the context of the phrase like this: don’t hesitate, buy and use it.
Although, due to the difference in mentality, it is difficult to make an accurate translation without knowledge of the English language at a sufficient level.
And the ZTE company itself is not as widespread in Russia as Samsung or Nokia, for example. So I immediately ran into a problem. Finding a case for my phone in Irkutsk is simply unrealistic. I had to order through Aliexpress.
1. Charging unit with detachable cable. Versatile and good option. The cable works as a charger and as an adapter from the phone to the computer.
The block has a lot of numbers and icons; at the output it produces a current with a voltage of 5V and a power of 1.5 A. These parameters provide a charge for the smartphone in an average of 4 hours.

The phone screen is glass and large. It is enlarged due to the absence of side panels.
This is how it asks for additional protection, because if the glass breaks, the new one will cost a pretty penny.
And the size of the phone itself is impressive. At first it wasn’t comfortable for my feminine hand, but now I’ve gotten used to it.
The back cover of the case is made of matte plastic and does not slip. Looks nice, but glares in the light.
At the top of the phone there is a 5 MP front camera, a speaker and an indicator light.
On the back side there is an 8 megapixel main camera and a flash.
The phone's functions are controlled by three touch buttons below the screen. 1st point - Back, circle - Home, 2nd point - Menu. It’s not entirely convenient, I immediately swapped Back and Menu in the settings.

On the side right side there are power and volume buttons. The buttons themselves are soft, respond quickly to pressing, and do not stick.
Above the battery there are 2 slots for a micro-Sim card. The second slot is combined with microSD.

There are quite a lot of factory applications, there is a full set of standard ones. But I will describe the most interesting and useful ones.
1.Shazam - the application recognizes music and determines the artist and song title. Convenient and fast, I use it from time to time.
2. Family mode - it has a minimum of huge icons. Comfortable for people with low vision.
3. WPS Office - an analogue of a computer office. I actively use Word and Excel, so it couldn’t come at a better time.
4. Clean Master - cleans the phone of debris. At first I was impressed, the phone hung up a lot, but after cleaning it immediately became fast. But then the phenomenon became frequent and I learned from one clever article that this application itself slows down the operation of the smartphone. I deleted the application and similar problems disappeared.
In general, there are no problems with the work. All applications open quickly and without freezing, literally with one touch. Which makes me sincerely happy.
1. Increased battery capacity to 4000 mAh provides a great advantage. Namely, the battery lasts for a long time. For example, if I talk on the phone for 2 hours a day, that’s enough for 3 days! If I actively use it, that is, I talk the same amount, but I listen to music, upload photos, and the Internet is for 1 day.
The only thing is there is a nuance. If there is about 13% battery remaining, then it turns off after 20 minutes. That is, at first it does not discharge for a long time, and then it turns off abruptly. Of course, you still need to get used to this.
2. 3G/4G mode only works on SIM 1. And to access the Internet with SIM 2 there is only one way out - swap cards.
3. The phone cover is removed in a very unusual way. There is a small hole in the lower left corner. You need to insert a thin object into it and pull the lid up. This is completely inconvenient for me. You can't pry it with a needle, it will suddenly break. In this case, they could have equipped it with some special key.
You can, of course, open it “impudently”, but after two broken nails, this method disappeared by itself.
4. This phone does not have a separate menu entry. In fact, all applications are on the desktop.

Externally, the Blade X3 looks like a typical budget smartphone without any eye-catching features, except for the unusually designed bottom panel with a touch ring, but more on that later.
The user can choose one of three versions of the device: gold, white or black. Pay attention to the official photos of the device; in the photo with the white model, the frames were specially reduced; it certainly looks funny.
The back cover is made of matte smooth plastic; fingerprints easily remain on it (although it is, of course, not as easily soiled as gloss or glass), but they can also be easily removed with any microfiber cloth.

I didn’t really like the touchpad, because in the dark you have to feel it for the backlight to turn on. By the way, if you wish, you can swap the actions for the right and left buttons.
The main speaker has an average volume headroom, but good quality; at maximum volume it does not wheeze. In terms of assembly, there are no complaints about the device.
Dimensions
I should note that despite the impressive battery capacity, the ZTE Blade X3 does not feel like a bulky smartphone in your hand. Yes, it is weighty and not as thin as the company’s flagships, but all this is within reasonable limits. The device is almost as comfortable to hold in the hand as the iPhone 6, adjusted for its slightly greater width and weight.

HD resolution is increasingly appearing in the segment under 10,000 rubles, and this fact makes me very, very happy. If we talk specifically about the display in the Blade X3, then it has good viewing angles, a good brightness range, mediocre behavior in the sun and no oleophobic coating. That is, this is a typical average, but for the money the screen is quite good.

The device runs Android 5.1 with the proprietary MiFavour shell. It seemed to me that specifically in X3 the version of the shell was greatly cut down, so all the elements look the same as on stock Android, the only exception is the launcher with rounded icons. To be honest, I like that you can install another launcher and actually get a device on pure Android with a couple of features from ZTE like Russian letters in the dialer, for example.
Performance
The updated version of the good old MT6735 with the “P” index is responsible for performance. Its power is enough for most everyday tasks and simple casual toys. Higher performance games like Asphalt 8 will also run, but at medium settings.
Autonomous operation
In fact, the battery in this model is removable, but in my sample it was covered with a warranty sticker, so apparently the manufacturer does not recommend replacing it yourself.
As for the operating time, the impressive capacity allows the Blade X3 to work for a couple of days with an average activity of two hours of the screen turned on (Twitter, mail, browser, instant messengers - all this on the mobile Internet). The device also showed excellent results in our tests.
Camera
The camera takes average pictures. You can take normal shots in sunny weather, but under artificial lighting noise and pixelation appear. The front camera, despite its high resolution, also did not impress.
Wireless interfaces
The smartphone is inexpensive, so there are no NFC or newfangled Wi-Fi standards here. But there is support for two SIM cards and a fast GPS cold start for MediaTek chipsets.
Conclusion
I had no complaints about the quality of speech transmission: you and your interlocutor can hear each other perfectly.
At retail, ZTE Blade X3 costs 9,000 rubles. For this money you get a smartphone with a capacious battery and a good display. Among the shortcomings, I can only highlight the mediocre camera and 1 GB of RAM. And the lack of oleophobic coating, of course. In my opinion, ZTE has come out with a good budget smartphone, because they didn’t skimp on key parameters (speed and operating time, screen quality). If you need an inexpensive device with HD resolution, then be sure to pay attention to this model.
The only direct competitor for this money is the Xiaomi Redmi 3, but comparing it with the Blade X3 is wrong, because Xiaomi will be purchased by those who are willing to wait two or three weeks for the device and more or less know the brand, while ZTE can be purchased in most retail stores .

But it must be admitted that the thermal conductivity of the case is very good, even when heated to 50 degrees, it is convenient to use the smartphone and the user will not experience any discomfort.
To successfully open the device, it is enough to use the information from the stock instructions that come with the kit, but on your first attempts you will encounter tight latches that do not want to open without the application of less than careful efforts. To avoid damaging anything, I recommend reading a few paragraphs of text below.
Before disassembling the device, think about whether your budget can handle small expenses that will be spent on the services of ZTE service center technicians, who will carry out all the necessary operations in a few minutes, providing a guarantee for all their actions. If you decide to carry out all the steps yourself, read on.
When removing, focus on the microUSB connector; it is in its area that it is easiest to pry off the plastic cover. When opening, you can, of course, only use your fingernails, but for best efficiency, try to find some kind of metal thin spatula or plate.
