How to view deleted photos in contact. Video lesson: deleted VKontakte photos

The social networking service allows users to post photos and other materials on their page, which is often used for storage, quick transfer, and other things. However, sometimes it happens that a user accidentally deletes very important image, without having any copy of it. That is, she disappears forever.

Before taking any action, you need to check if the image is saved in some other place - on the camera’s memory card, in your phone’s downloads, on your computer. This way you can save time and nerves.

So, VKontakte stores on servers all photos deleted from accounts.

It should be understood that there is no convenient way viewing deleted photos; social networking services do not provide for this. For example, there is a recycle bin on your computer that contains all deleted files and with which they can be easily restored, but a similar folder simply does not exist on the Internet.

So, what makes it especially difficult is the fact that there is no specific link left on the photo, otherwise one could simply find the image through a search engine if the photo album and the page itself were not restricted for viewing.

To find a deleted photo, you should copy the account link and paste it into the search. Several links will appear. Under the first of them, you need to click on the small triangle and select the “Saved copy” tab. A saved copy of your account will open, where you can find remote image and copy it to your computer using “Save As...”.

It is also possible to recover a deleted photo if it was recently viewed on full size, which means it is temporarily stored in the browser cache. To find it you need special program to view the cache in the browser - each of them has a special program. Should use package Web applications Browser Tools, which contains the necessary utilities.

After activating the application, a list of all deleted photos, in which there is a possibility of recovery. Logically search for files jpeg format or jpg and pay attention to the file size..

If none of the above is successful, then it makes sense to write to the technical support of the social network and ask for help with recovery. If the question is about a really important photo, then the moderators will probably pay attention to it.

It is important that there is no way to restore an album of images. After confirmation of deletion, the album will disappear without any possibility of recovery.

In conclusion, it is important to say that the easiest way not to lose important photos- do not store them in one place, much less in social networks, in which your account may be hacked or an error may simply occur that will delete some information.

"Recover" button when deleting a photo

Also, first of all, you should think about deleting each of the photos. If a photo was deleted by accident, you can immediately restore it before the page is refreshed.

Many VKontakte users store photos only in profile albums, without backups files on your computer, so deleting pictures often results in the complete loss of valuable footage. But even if you deleted a photo on VKontakte, you can try to restore it.

Fast recovery

Immediately after deleting a photo, a “Restore” button appears above it, clicking on which returns the photo back to the page in Contact.

However, if you refresh the page or open the next photo, the “Restore” button will disappear. Along with it, the opportunity to return the photo back to the VK album will disappear. If you delete the entire album at once, no restore button will appear, so be careful and do not take rash actions.

Saved copy to Google

If you did not prohibit page indexing in your VKontakte profile settings search engines, then you can try to find the deleted photo using the copy that Google automatically creates.

IN separate tab A copy of the page in Contact that Google created automatically will appear. Sorry, you can't select a date backup. But if a copy was made when the album was still on the VK page, then you can go into it and save the necessary pictures to your computer.

View Browser Cache

If Google has not saved a copy of your VKontakte page, then try to find deleted photos graphics in the cache of the browser you used to log into your VK account. Any photo you open is saved in temporary files web browser, so if you looked at pictures in VKontakte, you can restore them through a program for viewing the browser cache.

To restore a photo deleted from a VKontakte page, click on it right click. You can open the photo in the browser by selecting “Open Link”, or save the image directly to your computer by clicking “Cope Selected” and specifying a folder.

If in the search Google window enter the query “site: Vkontakte “photos from the DELETED page”, about 500 pages are displayed in the search results. Naturally, they do not open via a direct link. But if you simply click on a copy of the page, then users’ photos are available for viewing, reports Business Portal.

This gap in the work of VKontakte was discovered by specialists from Security Lab, an Internet portal about information security. Experts describe several simple techniques for finding deleted photos. Using information tagged “image source” found on Google, you can calculate the page id of a VKontakte user. In them, among the existing photographs, there are no those that Google produces, although it is obvious that the person is depicted as the same person.

Security Lab:

How long search engines store information is a matter of their trade secret. Information found on the Internet is stored on equipment owned by search engines, the period depends on the equipment settings. The entire volume of data produced by search engines is approximately 20% of what is stored on servers.

According to the expert, the data security monitoring service is not in demand in Russia. This is one of the reasons for the leaks of personal information that were observed last week.

Yandex does not find deleted photos. It is known that Facebook and Google generally do not delete data ever posted by users and report this in their privacy policies.

The saga of a deleted VK photo or a small hack by the hands of a person far from this matter

  • Closet *

I admit, I am an ordinary user, far from any type of activity related to cracking or, more simply put, hacking. I’m sitting on VKontakte, it’s far from early, and suddenly a friend posts photos from a Women’s Day celebration (by the way, happy March 8th to all the fair sex!) Having decided to look at them, I noticed that there was no third photo, but in the end I got this is the little window.

Naturally, I still wanted to take a look at what my friend was hiding, and I was faced with 3 ways to solve this problem. I'll tell you in more detail about each of them.

1. Small preview

The easiest option for regular user. All you need to do is right-click on the picture and select the submenu “Save picture as...”

As a result, we get this picture:

Let's note a clear minus this method– low picture resolution (mine is 320x240). What if there is some text on it? Not such a good deal anymore, is it?

2. Full photography (long method)

To do this, you need to click on the photo again so that a notification about deleting the file pops up.
Now we must examine the elements on this page. Various browsers have options for this. various combinations keys, but in Chrome it’s RMB (right mouse button) and “View element code” (or Ctrl+Shift+J), and Firefox is RMB and “Examine element” (or Ctrl+Shift+I).
You should get a picture like this:

The question arises, where are the developers hiding this ill-fated picture? I admit that Pavel Durov decided to hide it very far into the depths of tables and blocks, so much so that I had to do large number clicks...
Here is the exact address:

Now look at the line

Everything that is in quotation marks after the word src is the address of our full-fledged image:

Well, ladies, we found the deleted photo and made sure of VKontakte’s policy on storing photos on the server (upload any data after that). Agree that the path to the picture is quite long, because the user can delete more than one photo.

3. Full photo (quick method)

Note that the required data is stored in a link with id = “pv_photo”. Now we can safely launch the console in the browser (Chrome: Ctrl+Shift+J -> “Console” tab, Firefox: Ctrl+Shift+K) and enter the following JS script:
document.getElementById("pv_photo").firstChild.src

No magic button, which will easily and simply restore a deleted photo or VKontakte ava. More precisely, when you delete a photo, a link appears "Restore" in case the photo was deleted by mistake. But if you have already left there, read this instruction to the end.

Deleted photos disappear from your page, but remain on VKontakte servers. This doesn't mean that it will be easier to recover a deleted photo (or avatar) and especially does not mean that anyone can look at your deleted photos. The fact is that it is easier for VKontakte owners not to delete photos completely, but only to remove them from the pages so that no one can find them.

Recovery methods

Despite the fact that the deleted photo is still somewhere out there, on one of the VKontakte servers, it is almost impossible to find it. To open this file you need to know exact link on it (many, many letters, numbers and at the end “.jpg”). Even if we knew part of this link, selecting the remaining options would take a very long time (longer than you might imagine).

Therefore, you need to try to take advantage of other, more realistic chances. The main thing is not to waste time.

Is there a photo left somewhere?

If it was a truly valuable photo or profile picture, then most likely it is somewhere else. For example, on your computer in a folder with photos, on your phone, somewhere on a disk or on a flash drive. Perhaps your boyfriend or girlfriend. If someone else made you an avatar, then that person probably still has it. One of your VKontakte friends can help you restore a deleted ava, if he liked it and saved it somewhere. Don't be shy to ask people!

A copy of the page in the Google search engine

If your page was open to everyone (or the album with the photo you were looking for was not closed), then the deleted photo could be saved in Google. From time to time, Google makes copies of all pages on the Internet and stores them for a while. This is called "in cache". There is a chance of recovery if not much time has passed since the deletion (no more than a week). But even if the photo remains there, most often it is possible to restore only the miniature (photo in small size).

Check if your page is still in the Google cache - enter the address of your VKontakte page in the search bar (below) - for example, https://vk.com/id126494354. The easiest way is to open your VKontakte page and copy the address from here address bar browser.

Finding a saved copy of the VK page

Then press "Find", will open new page with search results. If you find something, open your saved page:

  1. Click on the small green triangle next to the page address.
  2. Select an item "Saved copy."
  3. Click on it.

An example of what it looks like:

Now the saved copy of your page will open. If there is a photo there that you want to restore, open it and save it somewhere to yourself (usually you need to right-click on the photo and select "Save image as...").

If there is no green triangle at all, then there is no copy of the page in Google, and this method will not work.

Browsing history or browser cache is a chance!

If you recently looked at this photo in full size, then it could remain in your browsing history or in the cache (temporary files) of your browser - the program with which you view websites. This is one of the real chances. What if you opened the photo using the button "Open original" maybe you can even find a link to the VK site where this photo is still stored.

How to find a deleted photo in your browser history

Usually you can view your browsing history in the browser using a key combination Ctrl-H or call through the menu. It is especially useful to search there if you have recently opened a photo via a link "Open original."

How to find a deleted photo in temporary files

You will need a program to view the cache. For different browsers exist different programs, download and run the one that is designed specifically for yours (Chrome, Mozilla Firefox,Opera, Internet Explorer). If you're not very good with computers, it's time to stop touching anything and call a boy who is good at it to continue from there.

Page with programs for viewing cache different browsers: Web Browser Tools. Download the program for the browser used on your this computer. Run it and search the cache for image files (.jpg) enough large size— among them may be that same deleted photo.

Is it possible to recover a deleted album and how?

Unfortunately, VKontakte albums are deleted immediately and forever. As in the case of individual photos, you can restore an accidentally deleted album only immediately after deleting it, as long as there is a link on the screen "Restore". Therefore, be especially careful when deleting an entire album. If you have closed the page, your only chance to restore the album is through support (read below).

Is it possible to restore a photo along with likes and comments?

This is absolutely impossible.

How to recover photos through support?

The last chance is to write to VKontakte technical support and ask to recover deleted photos. Do it as quickly as possible, you literally have only a few days! Give them the following information:

  • I accidentally deleted a photo, please restore it.
  • How many photos did you delete?
  • When exactly did I delete them and how exactly?

In order not to search, you can create new request for support regarding deleted photos via this link.
