Anvide Seal Folder is a free program that is used to restrict access to important folders. You can choose the interface language yourself during installation; Russian is also on the list. There are two versions of this utility: one needs to be installed, and the second is portable. I’ll tell you about the second one, and you can download it from my Yandex Disk using the link at the bottom of the article (it’s pointed to by a blue flashing arrow).

Let's briefly tell you what this program is. It allows you to password-protect the necessary folders, thus limiting access to them. Protected folders disappear from their previous location on the computer and remain visible only in the program. After you remove the protection, the folder will reappear in its original location. You can set different passwords for different folders. In addition, you can set a general password for Anvide Seal Folder, which will be requested immediately upon startup.

So, unpack the downloaded archive with the program installed as an archiver - extract all the files from it to any location on your computer.

Next, open the folder where you unpacked the archive, find “ASF” among them, opposite it in the “Type” column should indicate “Application”, and launch it by double-clicking the mouse.

In the next window, select the appropriate language, I chose Russian, and click on the green checkmark.

Read the license agreement. Please note that there are some risks when using the program, such as file loss. If you agree, click “accept”.

The main window looks quite simple: an empty area in the middle and a few buttons at the top. Let's start with "Settings".

On the tab, in addition to “hide folders,” you can also encrypt their names and contents. Just click on the desired item with the mouse so that a bird appears opposite it. Look, if you check all the boxes and want to encrypt everything, the protection will be reliable, but the encryption process will take some time.

Next tab "Basic settings". Check all the necessary boxes, for example, checking for a new version, blocking access to all files when exiting the program, you can also integrate Anvide Seal Folder into the context menu.

Go to the “Appearance” tab. Also check the boxes in the required fields, and using the markers you can select a different “Color” of the program window and "Contrast".

Before you want to reinstall the operating system on your computer, you need to unlock all folders. If you did this urgently, and something remains hidden, go to the section.

There will be a point here "Restoring folders after reinstalling the system", click on it.

Mark on which drives the protected folders were originally stored, and click “Next”.

Wait for the results of the utility.

In order to put a password on a folder, you must first add it to the program window. Click on the button with the plus sign at the top.

In the window that opens, find the one you need, select it and click on the button with a checkmark.

Add all the necessary folders in which information intended to be hidden is stored. Now they are all in the group "Open folders".

To deny access, select the one you need and click on the button with the image of a closed padlock.

Enter your password and repeat it in the second field. The exclamation mark button will help you add a password hint. Then click "Close access".

The selected folder will disappear from the place on the computer where it was located and will remain only in the program window in the group "Closed folders".

You can immediately block access to all open folders; to do this, click on the arrow next to the closed lock and select the appropriate item.

They will indeed be closed and disappear from their previous locations on the computer. But if you want to open a folder protected in this way by clicking on the open lock...

There is no need to fill out the password field, just click "To open access".

The protection will be removed and it will appear in its original location. That is, there was no password assigned to it.

This method is good to use if you set a password to start the program itself. That is, the folders will be protected (they will not be in the same places), but there will be one password - for the utility itself.

To set a password for Anvide Seal Folder, click on the image of the round open padlock. Next, enter the required characters in the field. After that, it’s better to click on the magnifying glass so that they are displayed, and you make sure that you typed everything correctly. At the end, click on “OK”.

Now when you start the program, you will be asked for a password. To remove it, just click on the already closed round lock, and then the “Yes” button in the window.

To unlock and view the contents of a password-protected folder, double-click on it with the mouse. Then enter the required letters and numbers and press "To open access".

If the password you entered is incorrect, a window will appear with the hint that you left earlier (if you left it).

After you unlock a folder, a window may appear indicating that they tried to guess the password for it: which one, how many times and when.
