Wireless mice with silent buttons. Silent computer mice are an excellent option for productive work

For convenient work, we need various devices, including a computer mouse. Previously, the mouse was equipped with a rubber roller, but now it works wirelessly using Bluetooth technology, helping us both in work and in leisure (playing games, watching movies, surfing the Internet). The variety of models presented in the rapidly developing market clearly highlights how progress, guided by the needs of users, meets the needs of the time.

The best computer mice of 2018 are characterized by a number of indicators, for example, high DPI (dots per inch), the presence of wireless technologies, ergonomics, etc. For each person, the characteristics of the best mouse are different, and as you read this review, you will be able to choose exactly your option, whether it is the most comfortable or equipped with a huge number of buttons and functions, or simply reliable and durable.

1. Logitech MX Anywhere 2

A universal and multifunctional, but not out-of-the-ordinary mouse.

  • DPI: 1600
  • Interface: Bluetooth and 2.4 GHz wifi (multi-device connectivity - up to three devices)
  • Buttons: 6
  • Ergonomics: right hand
  • Peculiarities: Scroll wheel, Logitech Darkfield laser sensor, Unifying receiver, Easy-Switch technology, gesture function

MX Anywhere 2 is smaller than Logitech's flagship MX Master, making it a better option for travel enthusiasts. It connects via Bluetooth or 2.4Ghz wifi (using a Logitech dongle) to up to three devices and has low tracking latency so it works great on shiny surfaces. Like MX Master, the scroll wheel can rotate freely, pressing it allows you to scroll down long pages without hurting your fingers. Logitech says the mouse's 2 non-rechargeable batteries will last up to 60 days.

2. Logitech MX Master

The mouse looks like a spaceship.

  • DPI: 1000
  • Interface: Bluetooth (connect up to three devices)
  • Buttons: 5
  • Ergonomics: right hand
  • Peculiarities: Comfort Contours, Speed Adaptive Scroll Wheel, Thumb Wheel, Logitech Darkfield Laser Sensor, Dual Connectivity, Rechargeable Battery

Logitech's flagship is a truly powerful mouse, although some may find it too big, but don't rush to conclusions. Interesting shape, convenient, ability to connect both via USB and Bluetooth - up to 3 devices.

The rechargeable battery lasts up to 40 days and can then be recharged and used while recharging. The scroll wheel has two functions - super-fast scrolling and on click, it is possible to scroll not only down, but also to the sides, in addition, you can program the buttons by choosing a combination that is convenient for you. This mouse can easily get into the top of the best gaming mice of 2018.

3. Anker - vertical ergonomic optical mouse

Yes, it looks strange, but it feels very good in the hand.

  • DPI: 1000
  • Interface: USB
  • Buttons: 5
  • Ergonomics: Vertical
  • Peculiarities: useful for the prevention of hand diseases and for those who already have this new computer disease - carpal tunnel syndrome

The mouse is vertical, as if you are holding someone's hand. It feels strange, but it is comfortable and will not allow your hand to move as much as regular mice do, reducing the load on your hand. Moreover, it is relatively inexpensive. One downside is that the thumb buttons don't work on Mac computers. If you are looking for the best mice of 2018 (especially with an emphasis on the unusual design, as well as those that are not harmful to the health and even prevent diseases of PC users), this model is one of the best in this category.

4. Apple Magic Mouse 2

As always, Apple doesn't think like everyone else

  • DPI: 1300
  • Interface: Bluetooth
  • Buttons: 0
  • Ergonomics: Symmetrical
  • Peculiarities: Multi-touch

This mouse, although it looks fantastic, has symmetrical ergonomics and multi-touch, and is also quite expensive, has its critics, who nevertheless believe that this is the most uncomfortable mouse from Apple. However, everyone's tastes are different and many people like how it glides smoothly across the table (more smoothly than the 1st version) and it does not have regular batteries, but has a built-in rechargeable one (although you will not be able to use the mouse while charging - due to the position of the Lightning port ).

5. Logitech Triathlon M270

  • DPI: 1000
  • Interface: Bluetooth (up to three devices)
  • Buttons: 8
  • Ergonomics: right hand
  • Peculiarities: 24 months of battery life on AA battery, Ergonomic design, free-rotating scroll wheel, Easy-switch technology, Logitech software

Thanks to Easy-switch technology, you can easily switch between several computers at the same time (up to 3 devices). Super fast scrolling and scrolling with clicks is one of the good options of this mouse. Designed for 10 million clicks and 24 months of operation - that’s why the word “Triathlon” is in the name of the mouse - a sport for the most enduring. Even more options are revealed to Windows and MacOs owners after downloading special software from Logitech. This model easily falls into the category of the best mice of 2018.

6. Logitech M330 Silent Plus

Silent mouse for those who like to work quietly at the computer.

  • DPI: 1000
  • Interface: Wireless connection operating at 2.4 GHz frequency
  • Buttons: 3
  • Ergonomics: right hand
  • Peculiarities: Quiet buttons, 10m wireless coverage, 2 AA batteries (claimed 24 months battery life)

It's not the most feature-rich mouse on the market, but its quiet operation and compact size, user-friendly design, and long battery life make it a great choice—not just for frequent travelers, but also for people with easily irritated coworkers. One of the disadvantages is the lack of connection with Bluetooth.

7. Mad Catz R.A.T. ProX Precision Gaming

This may be the craziest gaming mouse ever made.

  • DPI: 8200/5000
  • Interface: USB
  • Buttons: 10
  • Ergonomics: right hand
  • Peculiarities: replaceable modules, individual customization, free movement of the mouse wheel

This mouse can easily get into the top of the best gaming mice of 2018. She looks like a Transformer, and in principle, she is one. The ability to change modules and install the ones most suitable for you is present along with the ability to program buttons.

This mouse is quite expensive, but for game lovers and eSports players it is one of the best options. At the very least, she clearly looks unusual, and she can do a lot. For example, with analog strafe technology, this mouse turns the scroll wheel into an analog joystick, so you can move around enemies, dodge, and do other movements that would be a problem with a regular mouse.

8. Microsoft Bluetooth Mobile Mouse 3600

Cheap, convenient, fun and lasts forever.

  • DPI: 1000
  • Interface: Bluetooth
  • Buttons: 2
  • Ergonomics: Symmetrical
  • Peculiarities: No

You may be confused by the word Microsoft in the name of the mouse, but it deserves attention. Bluetooth technology allows you to connect to your computer without using USB dongles. In addition, the mouse operates for one year on one battery, which, you see, is quite a rare occurrence in the world of computer mice. In addition, it is suitable for both right-handed and left-handed people. Of course, it doesn't have a lot of buttons, it can't transform into something and save the world, but otherwise it's quite good, convenient and reliable.

9.Razer DeathAdder Chroma

  • DPI: 10000
  • Interface: USB
  • Buttons: 5
  • Ergonomics: right hand
  • Peculiarities: lighting effects

A mouse with a backlight of 16.8 million colors combined with an optical sensor - 10,000 dpi, with excellent performance and speed. An excellent choice for many esports athletes and gaming enthusiasts. Plus, if your computer is too far away, this mouse has a 2-meter braided cable. If you are looking for the best gaming mice of 2018, then this is one of the best in terms of speed and responsiveness.

10. Cherry MC 4000 Precision

Some users like loud keyboards, such as the gamer or classic Clicker, and mice with a clear click, which in addition to tactile and audio information about the operation of the buttons. But those around you are not very happy about such loud devices. The same Razer was forced, under pressure from the girlfriends and wives of gamers, to release a quiet version of the Razer BlackWidow Stealth Edition.
Nevertheless, the site’s editors did not even suspect the existence of completely silent mice, during the development of which silence was at the forefront, until several Silent Mouse from the Dutch company Nexus Technology. Let's get to know them better.

Understand why these mice are called Silent Mouse, you can only try one of them yourself. They're not just quiet, they're truly silent. You can only hear a slight blurry click by bringing your ear to the device itself. At first, this is somewhat discouraging and even makes work difficult. Although in fact the keys Nexus Silent Mouse very responsive, informative and respond perfectly to clicks, the user still lacks a click to confirm the action. After all, we are so accustomed to hearing this sound when pressing that its absence is perceived as a lack of information. You simply cannot understand whether the button is pressed or not.

However, you get used to it quite quickly, especially if you are used to working with music on or playing with headphones. Again, modern touchpads in laptops and touch interfaces in smartphones and tablets do not produce the usual clicks, and many are already accustomed to this.

Who might need a silent mouse? On the Nexus website, the developers give examples of audio and TV studios, but such a device can also be useful at home if the computer is installed in a room where another resident is relaxing, say in student dormitories or a bedroom. Or if you are used to working and playing at night, and your loved ones are disturbed by the clicking of the mouse in particularly heated battles. However, here you should definitely take care of a silent keyboard, but we didn’t find such a device on the Nexus website. It would not be amiss to use a silent cooling system in the case of a desktop PC.

Secret Silent Mouse– patented switches that hide the click sound. The main question is how reliable this mechanism is and how long it will dampen sounds so well during daily use of the device. It’s also worth considering that the scroll wheel here is a little louder than the buttons, and the rustling of the feet on the rug has not gone away. In addition, if you are used to not pressing, but slightly hitting the buttons, you will still hear the click sound.
Now briefly about the models available for sale Silent Mouse.

Nexus SM-7000B

Laptop wireless mouse for a finger grip. Nice soft-touch plastic plus a small glossy insert. The microreceiver is hidden in the bottom, but protrudes slightly from it. The sensor is optical, at 1000/1600 dpi and may fail on some surfaces. There are only four keys, including the sensitivity change button. The wheel is a little noisy. The balance is shifted towards the rear due to the two heavy AA batteries. A stylish white version is also available.

Nexus SM-9000B

Slightly smaller than the previous model and has a very easily soiled glossy body. Unlike the SM-7000B, this mouse is ambidextrous. Slightly lighter and better balanced with two lighter AAA batteries. The laser sensor is 1600 dpi, although not gaming class, but sufficient for office use. Due to the slightly stiffer buttons, it is less noisy than the optical version, but also slightly less informative. Tiny and very loud legs upset. A version with a glossy carbon fiber finish is also available.

Nexus SM-8500B

A larger desktop version of the silent mouse. Ergonomic shape plus two additional quiet side keys, which are so lacking in laptop devices. Soft touch coating plus glossy inserts. Probably the quietest of the presented controllers. Only small and noisy legs upset.

Bottom line

Nexus Silent Mouse unusual devices that fully justify their name. These are truly the quietest mice on the market. However, actually as mice they raise some questions.
If you really need a silent controller for work or home, take a look at the products reviewed. Otherwise, look at the alternatives; there are better devices in this price range.

Tired of mouse clicking? ("Quiet" computer mouse)

In this project we will make our computer mouse silent. Well, let's get started: Let's disassemble our mouse. The photo below shows (in red arrows) the buttons that produce 90% of all noise.

I would like to note that this method is only suitable for buttons of the type shown in the photo; for buttons of another type, you will have to come up with your own way of “comforting” the mouse.

Carefully solder the two buttons. We open the button by carefully prying its “legs” with a sharp knife (see photo).

It’s okay if you break the legs, a little glue will fix everything, in extreme cases you can leave everything as is, but in this case the functionality of the mouse after force major situations, for example, an earthquake, is not guaranteed. Rotate the cap 180 degrees and put it in place .

Solder the buttons back. Note! The buttons should be in the same position as before your intervention. If only two pins are connected to the circuit (as is the case with Genius mice), simply connect the other pins with a wire (see photo).

Hooray! All is ready! We collect the mouse. However, there is also a minus (although it can hardly be called a minus): after this modification you will have to get used to the new method of “clicking” (or rather, no longer clicking, click - click).

  • So why? Why does the click make such a noise? And such mice are already a thing of the last century..
  • The mouse click is made to ensure clear operation of the switching elements of the button, as a result of which the chatter interval is reduced. I think that after the rework, problems will arise, resulting in the button triggering twice when pressed once. In general, a useless exercise, considering that the noise from the mouse is much less than from the fans of the system unit.
  • The noise from the system unit is somewhat different, it is uniform or something. And from the mouse it’s random. There was a similar problem on one forum. The clicking of the mouse prevents you from falling asleep. Then I advised the person to cover his hand with the mouse with something soft and fluffy. But the noise from the keyboard is much louder than from the mouse and you can’t cover it with anything.
  • Well, what are you Quarx, you can :) here it is, the Colonel put it in jokes for the keyboard and it’s warm and not noisy. In general, the noise from the keyboard and mouse does not bother me, in Punto Switcher I set the function to voice the keys, romantic :)
  • The coolers in my car don’t make any noise, and the mouse doesn’t click, either I’m deaf or I just spent money on one cooler and one mouse.
  • I use an ASUS Eee netbook, i.e. there is no noise at all, instead of a hard drive there is flash memory, the cooler rarely turns on, and Opera doesn’t consume enough to actually load the CPU, I often stay up past midnight, I bought a quiet keyboard, but the clicking of the mouse just tormented the household . I took the simple route - I bought the cheapest mouse, glued (reliably, but not tightly, so that I could replace it if necessary) around the edges of a couple of microbuttons with a rubber base (taken from the panel of an old VCR), soldered them with wires to the necessary contacts. Now I use the mouse with standard buttons, and when silence is required, I press the silent buttons with my thumb. Of course, it’s easier for me, I have a touchpod, and I don’t have to worry about it, I just have the beech tree connected to the monitor, and it’s more pleasant as a rodent.
  • Spent a whole hour. It turned out that even in the above mice there are slight differences in the buttons. When I turned the button body, it rested on top of the L-shaped bracket. I had to work with the knife a little and make a couple of slits. The distance from the outer button to the inner one (which was redone) was adjusted with electrical tape. There are no double triggers, no sound. The main thing is to get used to the fact that the mouse responds accurately when pressed. And it happens that when you click on some link, you get the feeling that it didn’t work, but in fact the browser is just stuck
  • I have a problem, the mouse produces double clicks, I cleaned it up, but still instead of 1 click it makes a double click (((
  • When you press the mouse button once, a signal of two clicks is generated. The button is not pressed enough: the plastic corner on the mouse body, where the working part of the key presses the contact that presses the button, is erased.
  • mouse repair
  • Now I wish I could buy a touch keyboard)))
  • Before you pick the mouse, make sure that this is not a Windows setting or a glitch, otherwise you may be in vain tearing off its tail. You need to connect another known good copy. Rent one from a neighbor if you don't have a spare one. :) There is a cheaper option - a rubber keyboard.
  • There is such a thing. :) Now I’m using the Genius LuxeMate I220, it’s flat as a board, but it turned out to be comfortable, it’s weighted with a metal plate, it lies well on the table, it doesn’t move, the buttons have a shortened stroke, like a laptop, but a little deeper, and the most valuable thing is that it’s silent, at least At least there are no standard clicks, maybe the cursor is a little bit. The main thing is that the tactile sensations are pleasant, and I have touched a lot of keyboards, so as soon as I touched it in the store, I immediately bought it, although I did not plan to change the keyboard, I already have about five of them. :) Here I found a detailed review via Google: http://creep.ru/1161041431-genius-lu...laviatury.html Only there are some inconsistencies, my model has both Latin and Cyrillic letters in white letters. “...the arrow keys are installed in the “thick of things,” that is, right in the main array of keys. Thus, at first you will have to get used to the layout...” Yes, you will have to get used to it, but it’s not difficult, the “arrow” keys are easy to find by feeling the single “empty” field above the “right” key. “...some keys do not have a clear tactile response, for example, “O” and “A” ... “O” and “A” deliberately have a difference in their stroke and are even marked with special marks so that they can be felt blindly. In addition, they are designed for the longest fingers, therefore the amplitude of the blow is higher. The author of the review did not realize this before. The author of the review also noted the low noise level, but did not see the inscription “silent keyboard” on the packaging. Of course, it is not one hundred percent silent, but the level is the lowest of all that I have used and heard. :)
  • What about the "wheel"? For me it crackles no louder than the keys.

Computer games are a part of most people's lives. This is not surprising, because in a fairly realistic virtual world you can be anyone, from a beautiful princess to a bloodthirsty orc. Games allow people to relax and unwind after a hard day of work or school. But how can you achieve zen when you constantly hear mouse clicks under your ear?

Some people do not irritate such sounds at all, while others perceive them as the sound of rain or wind. However, if the “roar” of clicks begins to drive you crazy, then it’s time to think about using a quiet one. On the Internet you can find a huge number of instructions on how to independently improve an existing device. However, in this case you will have to disassemble the gadget and bend the contacts. This will make the device look pretty poor, so it’s much easier to buy a ready-made quiet mouse. Below is a rating of computer mice based on reviews from gamers and ordinary users.

Silent Plus

The model is that the user is not deprived of clicks. The quiet mouse's buttons press in the usual way, but practically no sounds are made. The manufacturer Logitech was able to reduce the noise level by 90%. No similar devices can boast of such results yet. Therefore, this model can be confidently called the quietest mouse.

The M330 is not heard not only by people who are in the same room with the gambler, but even by the gambler himself. It is worth saying that, thanks to its rather strict design, this device is suitable not only for fans of computer games, but also for office workers who are forced to listen to symphonies of clicking devices all day long.

Nexus SM-7000B

The Dutch manufacturer has developed a whole line of quiet computer mice called Silent Mouse. Model 7000B topped this rating. In addition to its main advantage - silence when pressing the keys, the device has a lot of additional advantages. First of all, it’s worth saying that this model fits perfectly in the hand; you don’t need to stretch your fingers to the right buttons. The mouse is made of soft-touch plastic, so it does not slip in the palm of your hand after many hours of use.

The only drawback of the model is the optical sensor, which sometimes does not work on some types of surfaces. Also, according to reviews about it, it only has keys. The wheel turns quite loudly.

Nexus SM-9000B

This model is slightly smaller than its predecessor. It corrects the shortcomings of the 7000V and installs a more powerful laser sensor. The mouse is not particularly “tailored” for serious games, but it is an ideal option for the office. The body of this device is made of glossy material, which is not very popular among users. However, the affordable price of this quiet mouse makes it the best in the mid-range price segment.

Nexus SM-8500B

This controller will be more to the taste of gamers. The case, covered with soft-touch plastic, is harmoniously diluted with glossy inserts. This model is larger in size than its predecessors, which slightly limits its scope of use. It is great for laptops and home use. But for the office, according to gamers, it is a bit large. However, if we talk about the noiselessness of the device, then it is rightfully on the list of the most successful solutions.

Razer Naga

When talking about computer games, one cannot fail to mention the controller from the Razer company. For any gamer, such a mouse is a dream. Bright and aggressive design, as well as impressive dimensions make this model the optimal solution for gaming at home. If we compare it with the Nexus line, then Naga wins in terms of the sensitivity of the laser sensor, which reaches as much as 8200 dpi. At the same time, there are 19 generated buttons on the device, thanks to which you can enjoy any game.

However, such a variety of keys is not useful for those who spend days on end in the office. Therefore, this quiet mouse can be confidently called a gaming mouse. However, experienced gamers found several significant shortcomings in it. First of all, users paid attention to the inconvenient and rather capricious software of the device. The computer may simply not recognize the device the first time. Also, many were confused by the lack of a wireless mode for the mouse. It would seem that game controllers should not be limited in movement in the first place, but for some reason the developers did not pay attention to this important nuance.

If we take into account the decent cost of the gadget, then it only copes well with the main task - it works silently. However, it is still worth paying tribute to the manufacturer, since the device is distinguished by its durability and build quality.

A4TECH OP-200Q

If it is not possible to purchase an expensive, quiet mouse for your computer, then you should pay attention to more budget models. Among them we can highlight the A4TECH device. The price of the mouse is no more than 300 rubles, so you shouldn’t expect much from it. The device copes with its main function with a confident four. When you press a key, a muffled sound is heard, but it is not inconvenient or annoying as the clicks from a conventional optical mouse. According to reviews, this controller is suitable for home and office use, and considering its low cost, it will be an excellent replacement for a standard mouse.

However, this option is not suitable for gamers. Unfortunately, the ergonomics and technical characteristics of this model do not combine well with the gaming experience. Therefore, if games are an important part of life, then you should pay attention to more expensive models. In addition, A4TECH only works via a USB cable, so this gadget is not very convenient to use during intense gaming.

Gembird MUSW-204

This budget wireless mouse does not make any sounds when you press the keys. MUSW-204 is equipped with two buttons and a scroll wheel, and that’s where its functionality ends. This option is ideal for home and office use. When you press the mouse keys, no sounds are made, but your finger feels that the device button is being pressed a little. The body of the device is very comfortable and ergonomic. The small and quiet computer mouse fits easily into the hand, so that even when using the controller for a long time, the user's fingers do not get tired.

Of course, this model is significantly inferior in its characteristics to products from Nexus, Razer or Logitech, but it also costs 2.5 times less. When choosing a silent mouse, you should consider not only the level of sound produced, but also the sensitivity of the sensor and keys. If the device is absolutely silent, but at the same time it does not recognize the work surface well, then this will be very annoying. Therefore, before purchasing a device, you should familiarize yourself with all its characteristics, advantages and disadvantages.

In order for the work to be productive and all projects to be completed on time, it is worth taking care of the technical equipment of the workplace. At first glance, such a small thing as a computer mouse cannot affect the entire workflow, but this is a misconception. When performing work tasks in public places and even at home, a person’s performance can either increase significantly or be reduced to a minimum.

Computer mouse problems

Quite often, people encounter difficulties related to the functioning of a computer mouse. When performing work tasks On a laptop, tablet or smartphone, computer peripherals may not be needed, but this particular part is considered an integral part of the computer. After a certain period of use, problems may appear that will not only interfere, but also irritate. One of them is the noisy operation of equipment that disturbs others. You can forget about concentration in this situation. Just imagine that every time you press a key on a computer mouse, the clicking sounds of the wheel and the “clicking” of the buttons appear.

How to choose a silent mouse?

Proper selection of a computer mouse will improve your productivity at work or study. You should purchase such equipment yourself, based on your own feelings. An excellent option would be to examine the mouse and try moving it on the table. When choosing silent mice for a computer, you should only choose the size and design that best suits the PC owner. So, more details.

Logitech

When choosing a silent mouse for your computer, you should opt for Logitech, a company that is rapidly developing in technology. The Logitech Silent brand offers a large number of original and incredibly comfortable computer mice with noise reduction levels of up to 90%. In addition, all silent computer mice are made of high-quality materials that ensure smooth movement of equipment on the desktop surface.

It is worth noting that only computer mice for Logitech Silent operation have been awarded the Quiet Mark certificate from the International Association for Noise Problems. Today on the market you can find the following models in demand by customers:

  • M590 Multi-Device Silent for advanced PC users (can work with two computers thanks to support for Logitech FLOW technology);
  • MX Master 2S (has an original design and is able to move between two computers);
  • MX Anywhere 2S - a compact, silent computer mouse will be an excellent companion when working in a cafe, hotel room, or airplane cabin.

HP computer mice

What other brands are worth mentioning? An excellent option would be to purchase a silent computer mouse from the American company Hewlett-Packard, which has been working in the field of information technology for more than 75 years. Popular models from HP are:

  1. HP X3000 Wireless Black (H2C22AA);
  2. HP N4G65AA;
  3. HP 200 X6W31AA Black.

Wireless DNS Mice

Computer mice with silent buttons were also presented by the DNS company. The optical technology operates within a radius of 10 m and has three keys and a scroll wheel. Thanks to special buttons, the mouse can be used at night without disturbing the silence. Silent computer mice, reviews and specifications for which can be found literally everywhere, are considered popular budget models.

Apple: computer mice

An excellent option would be to use computer mice from Apple. They quickly connect to equipment and are characterized by uninterrupted operation thanks to a sensitive sensor, namely the Multi-Touch area, which literally occupies the entire surface of the Magic Mouse computer mouse. In addition, any part of it can be used as a button due to a specially built-in chip. The weight of the mouse is 10-15 grams. You can connect your equipment using Bluetooth and the Lightning port. This mouse can only be used if you have a Mac computer. The equipment automatically connects to it and is instantly ready for use.

Before choosing a silent computer mouse, you should determine:

  • An optical or laser mouse is required.
  • Which form will be most convenient?
  • It is better to purchase a wired or wireless silent mouse.

Laser differs from optical in that it has a high-resolution sensor and an accurate cursor. Laser equipment for a laptop or computer requires less battery replacement and can work even on uneven surfaces, glass or mirrors. An LED or optical mouse is equipped with a special diode that detects the movement of the cursor on the screen. An optical silent computer mouse works worse on a glossy table surface. The form that is constantly used should be comfortable and simple so that the hand does not get tired while working.

When choosing a silent computer mouse, you should decide on its purpose. To work on the Internet, ordinary wired equipment is quite suitable. And to work with images and videos, you should choose a silent mouse with fast scrolling and a sensitive sensor. Whatever type of device you choose from those offered, computer equipment will allow you to work comfortably in public places, and will also preserve the sleep of your loved ones.
