The entire list of smartphones from this manufacturer that will receive the new operating system looks like this: HTC One M8, M9, M9 Plus, E9, E9 Plus, One E9, as well as Desire Eye and Desire 820(826).

We also have information about Samsung smartphones. Almost all current models of this year and flagships of last year will receive the desired update. According to the information received, OnePlus will present an update to the Android 6.0 operating system for both of its models in the proprietary Oxygen OS (international versions of smartphones) and Hydrogen OS (versions of smartphones for the domestic market). And the company will release its own versions of shells based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow for models, Mate 7, and others. Let's hope that among these “others” there will be the Honor 7 smartphone.

These data are not exceptional, which means there is hope to see the Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system in other models from the manufacturers listed in the table. Although most of this data is unofficial information, and it requires confirmation from manufacturers.

Well, that’s probably all, see if your device is on these lists. In the comments I would like to see reviews from those who have already received the long-awaited update.

Following Google, which began rolling out the new Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) operating system to Nexus devices on October 5, it was the turn of other manufacturers to update their Android products. After reading press releases and unofficial sources, Vesti.Hi-tech found out which brands’ models will be updated to the “six” in the very near future.

Nexus

Let us remember that the new “operating system” was presented back in May at the I/O conference and was tested for four months. The queue for the update traditionally went first to the owners of gadgets from the Nexus series, on which the “reference” version of Android is installed - exactly as it was conceived by the Google developer, without interface add-ons and modifications, shells, launchers and other impurities.

Starting on October 5, Google began distributing the final release to Nexus smartphones and tablets over the air (OTA), and also posted links for downloading and installing manually. The Nexus 5, Nexus 6 smartphones, Nexus 9 and Nexus 7 tablets (2013 release, models with Wi-Fi and LTE), as well as the Nexus Player set-top box, are compatible with the Six. As for the two new products - Nexus 5X (LG) and Nexus 6P (Huawei), shown at the end of September - they will run Android 6.0 out of the box.

LG

The other day, the Korean manufacturer announced that the update will come to its flagship smartphone LG G4 starting next week. “Owners of the LG G4 smartphone from LG Electronics will be the first in the world to receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS,” the company boasted, lying a little (Nexus gadgets were the first).

"Working closely with Google, LG was the first to bring Android 6.0 to the G4, ahead of all competitors," said LG Chief Marketing Officer Chris Lee. To be precise, his statement only applies to residents of Poland.

Having distributed the “six” to a limited number of devices, the company wants to make sure that the update process goes smoothly, and only then start sending Android 6.0 to larger markets. The release schedule for the update, as well as the timing of its appearance on other models, will depend on the specific region, LG said.

Huawei

Huawei, which recently joined the camp of Nexus device manufacturers by making the Nexus 6P for the Internet search engine, is also not far behind. The company said that Ascend P8, Ascend P8max, Mate S, Mate 7, Ascend G7, Ascend G7 Plus and Ascend G8 will start updating to Marshmallow from November.

Android 6.0 will also be received by smartphones under the Honor brand, namely Honor 7, Honor 7i, Honor 6 Plus, Honor 6, MediaPad X2, Honor 4X and Honor 4C. However, we are talking only about models for the Chinese market. The update may reach the USA and Europe with a delay.

Sony

Unlike LG, Sony has published a complete list of devices that will receive Android 6.0 Marshmallow. These include the Xperia Z5 Premium, M5, Z5 Compact, Z4 Tablet, Z2 Tablet, Z3, Xperia Z3+, Xperia C5 Ultra, Z3 Tablet Compact, Xperia Z2, Z3 Compact, C4, M4 and Xperia Z5. Half of the models mentioned will skip Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop) and update straight to Marshmallow.

However, the Japanese did not name any specific dates. "We're working hard to bring this major update to as many of our devices as possible, as quickly as possible," Sony said in a blog post.

HTC

On its official Twitter account, HTC managed to promise that the flagship smartphones One M9 and One M8 will receive an update “before the end of the year.” The post, published at the end of September, also stated that the update will definitely affect the One M9, One E9, One ME, One E8, One M8 EYE, Butterfly 3, Desire 826, Desire 820 and Desire 816 models.

The Taiwanese manufacturer has so far remained silent about the release schedule of the “six” on its devices. The exact timing may be announced at a press conference that HTC has scheduled for today.

With the exception of two flagships, HTC products are unlikely to be updated before the first and second quarters of next year. On mid-range smartphones such as the Desire 820, Android 6.0 will be installed even later, because HTC did not have time to update them even to the older version (5.1 Lollipop). As the Trusted Reviews website writes, an exception can be made for the “mid-range” One E9, which will receive the “six” at the very beginning of 2016, shortly after the two flagships.

Samsung

Traditionally, Samsung updates its Android devices quite quickly, within a few months. Last year, for example, Android 5.0 reached Galaxy gadgets within a month after the official release.

You can expect that the latest OS will first go to Korean flagship products, such as the Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Note 5. The release will most likely happen before the end of the year (data from SamMobile). And for older gadgets, including the Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy S5, Galaxy Alpha and Galaxy Note 4, the “six” is unlikely to arrive before the first quarter, writes YouMobile.

Motorola

Motorola, which was once part of Google, is also usually quick to release updates, as it makes minimal modifications to Android. The manufacturer has already announced that the “six” will be installed on Moto X Pure/Style, Moto G (2nd and 3rd generations), Moto X Play, Moto X (2nd generation), Moto Turbo, Moto Maxx and Droix Maxx. There is no information about release dates yet.

What's new in Marshmallow?

Detailed information about Android 6.0. you can find out from our reviews. In short, visually the “six” is not much different from last year’s 5.0 (Lollipop), but Google has made a lot of changes and improvements “under the hood”. The most significant new feature is Now on Tap, which allows you to search within apps. For example, if last week you were discussing on WhatsApp which restaurant to go to, but you can’t remember its name, just hold down the “Home” button and Google will quickly find the mentioned establishment.

At I/O 2015, Google introduced the world to a new version of its operating system, Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Enough time has passed since then. Developers and simply fans of the company have already managed to study it inside and out. However, this opportunity was once available only to owners of Nexus devices. Meanwhile, others had to be content with only videos and various text reviews, which could not fully convey all the changes and sensations from using the system.

However, the time when other users in the “About phone” settings will see the long-awaited number “6.0” is getting closer. In the meantime, we have prepared for you a list of devices from popular global companies that will happily roll out their own vision of the user interface onto stock Android, so you won’t notice any significant changes after the update.

Samsung

It’s not hard to guess: all the company’s modern and recently released smartphones, which at least somehow touch on the concept of “premium”, will receive a new version. We are talking about Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S6 (S6 Edge), Galaxy Note 4. And it seems that the list ends here, but no, we forgot to mention Galaxy Alpha, Galaxy S5, Galaxy A8 and Galaxy A7. A little later, owners of the Galaxy A5, Galaxy A3 and the Galaxy E series of devices will receive the update.

HTC

The Taiwanese can be praised for the user interface of Sense 7. It may not appeal to many, but the high quality of work of the company's programmers, thanks to which the system works almost perfectly, will make you take the brand more seriously.

But we don’t know how to treat a company that is still not able to update the HTC One M8 to Sense 7. However, it is already known that all devices that are updated to Android 6.0 will also be equipped with the Sense 7 shell.

One M8, One M9 will receive the update by the end of 2015. In 2016, an update is expected for HTC One M9+, E9, E9+, E8, ME, Desire Eye, Desire 826, 820, 816, M8 Eye, Butterfly 3.

Sony

Although Sony cannot please us with frequent updates, we are pleased with their desire to update old devices, which is quite rare today.

The following should receive the Marshmallow update: Sony Xperia M5, C5 Ultra, Xperia Z3 Plus, Xperia Z3, Z3v, Z3 Compact, Z2, Z Ultra GPE, Z1.

LG

The number of LG devices that should receive the update is quite small, but what surprised us most was the fact that the G2, released back in 2013, was not left out. Meanwhile, there were previously rumors that the device with the new update will also receive a new user interface LG UI 4.0, exactly the same one can be seen in the G4.
Update to Android 6.0 is expected on devices: LG G3, LG G4, LG G Flex 2, LG G2, LG G2 Pro, LG G Flex.

Asus

Asus strives to be included in the list of the best smartphone manufacturers, and gradually it succeeds. Even the fact that the company, like other top brands, tries to support its devices deserves respect.
The entire series of Zenfone 2, Zenfone 2 Lazer, Deluxe, Zenfone Selfie devices will be updated to 6.0, and an update to Zenfone 4, 5 and 6 is also expected. However, we have some doubts about Zenfone 4.

OnePlus

OnePlus is not one of those Chinese manufacturers that release devices and immediately forget about their existence. Both the first generation of OnePlus and the second based on OxygenOS will receive the Marshmallow update.

Xiaomi

The Chinese top manufacturer will not let its consumers down. The update will be delivered to Xiaomi Mi4, Mi 4i, Mi Note, Mi Note Pro, Redmi Note 2, Redmi 2 (Prime), Redmi Note (2014), Redmi 1S.

Huawei

But Huawei is not a fan of updates; unfortunately, so far only three devices are known that will receive the long-awaited Marshmallow: Ascend P8, Mate 7, Honor 6 Plus. A number of more devices are expected, but there is no specific information on this yet.

Elephone

The once little-known Chinese brand is gaining momentum. Unexpectedly for everyone, the Elephone P8000 will receive an update to . A big bow to the company for this. Bravo, Elephone!
