I came to the conclusion that I need to change the reading format. Namely, convert PDF to FB2. Having tried various ways conversion, I settled on the ABBYY PDF Transformer+ program - this is a program for working with PDF files and converting them to other formats.

The program is not free, but nowadays, if you try, you can find a lot of cracked programs on the Internet, and this one is no exception.

Now let's proceed directly to the file conversion itself:

As a result of my experiments with conversions in this program, I encountered two problems:

• When translating formats from one to another, with the recognition language only Russian, links in the book were not recognized;
• If there were any inserts in the book, for example, quotes or simply words not in Russian, the letters were replaced with an incomprehensible set of characters.

The automatic recognition language solved these problems.

For me ABBYY PDF Transformer+ is the best program conversion PDF files in FB2 and working with PDF.

This converter is on par with the flagship described above, considering that FB2 can be squeezed into DOC manually, but the other way around is more difficult. As expected, DOC conversion in FB2 works well only on relatively simple documents. If you come across formulas, tables, pictures, don’t expect them to be converted normally. It is especially sad that many other programs that have the same shortcomings are built on the basis of this converter.

A program similar to Any2FB2, only source files can be in HTML and DOC format. The program works in semi automatic mode, so it was difficult to figure it out. Anyway, fed to her DOC document went “nowhere”, and an attempt to convert it resulted in the creation of a correct FB2 file of 1 kilobyte (!). But this is already an achievement for the first test. Having looked at the reviews of other participants, we can say that the program works more or less normally with simple documents, but you need to get used to it.

Conclusion: good programs there is no automatic conversion between DOC and FB2 yet, but there are still attempts to develop it.

Tricks and Tricks

1. The FB2 format is a specialized XML document format. This format has much in common with the regular HTML format, which can be rendered by any browser. Simply rename the file, replacing the extension from FB2 to HTML, and then double-click on it. The text in the browser can then be copied and pasted into a MS Word document.

This program also works correctly only with simple files, besides, it’s difficult to understand it and get used to using it. We can conclude that universal, convenient and functional programs for converting fb2 to doc and vice versa, in automatic mode, does not yet exist. However, their development receives quite serious attention.
