Tele2 mini smartphone, what brand is it? Smartphones Tele2, MTS, Beeline and Megafon: everything you need to know

Full review Tele2 mini phone will not be. There are already enough of them on specialized sites. I would like to leave a review, my personal impressions of its use. Touch on some key points, sometimes mention technical characteristics, but only to illustrate my point.

Mobile phone Tele2 Mini

I didn’t plan to buy this phone, but it just so happened that my old one suddenly broke down completely and irrevocably, and I needed the phone urgently. Moreover, not just a push-button dialer, but on Android and with two SIM cards. The options that I would like and that would suit me would have to be ordered on the Internet and wait for some time, but I needed the phone right today. Therefore, I went and within an hour I just got myself such an inexpensive replacement, almost for nothing. In order to eventually put it back as a spare. Moreover, I was indirectly familiar with it (I saw a friend like it) and his simplicity did not frighten me. It cost me 2,190 rubles, although just recently it cost 1,890 rubles in Tele2 communication stores. As they say, it's only cheaper for nothing.

Mobile phone Tele2 Mini

The phone is manufactured by the Chinese company Haier Electrical Appliances Corp., Ltd, under the Tele2 brand. The smartphone can be purchased in black or white. I took the black one. White, in my opinion, is just “girly”. The design is universal, like most competitors. Slightly rounded corners, optimal thickness, the back cover is rough and non-slippery, it’s convenient. Since I have both SIM cards from the Tele2 operator, the phone suits me perfectly. The fact is that the slot for the first SIM card is locked specifically for use by Tele2, 3G works there. The second SIM card can be from any operator, but the Internet on it is only 2G. However, it’s easy to Google a code on the Internet that unlocks the first slot for using a SIM card from any operator. What makes this phone more versatile to use. Both SIM cards are of normal size, plus there is a slot for a memory card. What is absolutely not superfluous: the phone has only 4 GB of memory, of which less than 2 GB is available for programs.

Mobile phone Tele2 Mini

So that the already simple device does not slow down during operation, I installed only the most necessary applications for communication and some entertainment: Viber, Whatsapp, Vkontakte. Plus, an alternative camera CameraMX. It is convenient for me in two ways: you can take pictures by pressing the volume rocker, and there is a One Shot icon, when you click on it, the camera starts and immediately takes pictures. There are few built-in applications, and most of them are just what you need: Chrome browser, Gmail email client, Google Map and YouTube. Despite the modest characteristics, the phone, surprisingly, works quite quickly. All applications launch without noticeable pauses and work completely adequately. The GPS system also turns on quickly, finds satellites in seconds, and the navigator on Google maps works perfectly. Also in the built-in applications you can find the following: voice recorder, calculator, FM radio, calendar.

Mobile phone Tele2 Mini

A few words about ergonomic mistakes in the design of the Tele2 Mini phone. The power/lock screen key is on the right side of the phone, while the volume rocker is directly opposite on the left side. And when you press the power button, the volume key is often automatically pressed. You have to hold the phone so that pressure is not applied to the volume key. Another miss is on the phone's unlock screen. To simply unlock, you need to swipe from bottom to top. But the dialer and camera icons are swapped. If you swipe to the right, the dialer opens, and to the left, the camera opens. Not critical, but a drawback!

What is clearly weak in the Tele2 mini phone is the screen, camera and battery. The screen is a fairly convenient size, 4 inches, which determines the optimal dimensions of the phone in terms of holding it in your hand and carrying it in your pocket. The resolution is low, 800x480, but this is quite acceptable for most tasks. The main disadvantage is that the screen is not glass, but plastic. And at slight angles of inclination, colors are distorted to the point of inversion. Well, in general, if you look at the photo, you feel that the quality of the screen is far below the desired level. The screen is quite acceptable for correspondence or texts. The battery has a capacity of 1500 mAh, I would like more, but it is what it is. In normal mode (calls throughout the day, correspondence in instant messengers, a little surfing the net) the phone is enough for a day. However, if you use it almost continuously, then by lunchtime it will require charging. In standby mode, the phone consumes virtually no energy, which is a big plus. If in the evening there was 100% charge, then in the morning it was 99%. Or even the previous 100%. However, I think the settings of applications and the phone itself play an important role here. You can turn off components that are not needed and consume energy. In addition, I deliberately did not install Skype and Facebook with its Messenger. These are applications that constantly wake up the mobile device from hibernation, which leads to increased energy consumption. In addition, for such a modest device they are quite “heavy”; there is only 512 MB of RAM.

The camera on the phone is the simplest, 2 megapixels, so the quality of the pictures is frankly mediocre. It’s still suitable for sending to another phone, but if you look at the photo on a large computer screen, you can immediately see the poor quality. Which is quite surprising. I've seen photos from other phones, and even at this resolution (1600x1200) the colors and detail were much better. However, I read that the quality can greatly depend on the camera application used and the settings in it. You will have to experiment, perhaps the camera can show better results. I give three pictures as an example of photographs taken with a Tele2 Mini phone.

Example photo on Tele2 Mini phone

Summary: the phone is 100% worth its price. A fairly fast smartphone running Android 5.1, it runs all the basic applications needed for communication. Convenient dimensions and weight, two SIM cards and a memory card. A good option for a child; as a spare, safety phone; It’s not a pity to take it on a hike or for active recreation.

Tele2, the fastest growing cellular operator in Russia, announced the start of sales of 3G smartphones under its own brand. The device was called Tele2 Mini and became the operator’s first branded smartphone.

2.

Nowadays, during a crisis, ordinary people need smartphones for work and study - students, taxi drivers, entrepreneurs. Whatever it is, it's not a pity. Just a year ago, ultra-budget phones were a pain. But in 2016, Tele 2 released the first Mini phone for 1,890 rubles, and Megafon released the fourth version of the Login tablet, making it finally work normally and, miraculously, have 4G and GLONASS on board for 5,000 rubles!

Back in January 2016, it was not possible to find a new smartphone in a store for less than 3,000 rubles, even from operators with bonuses and discounts (I really asked a friend from the army), but here we have an excellent device for 1,890 rubles, but of course with a lot of compromises.

3.

The device comes in a nice cardboard box. It is pleasant to hold in your hands and would not even be a shame to give it as a gift.

4.

When considering devices from this price category, you inevitably encounter one difficulty: all these devices often do not differ from each other even externally, let alone the hardware.

Tele2 Mini is sold in black and will soon be available in white. As you might guess, we are reviewing a smartphone in the first color, because... they are more common. The corners of the case have a significant rounding, which is becoming widespread among budget devices.

5.

On the front panel of the smartphone there is a 4″ display with a TFT matrix, above it is a slot for the earpiece and a peephole for the front camera. Below the display there are standard icons for touch keys; they are not backlit.

Weight: 111 gr.

Available colors: black, limited white

The device recruits only 14,000 parrots. There is no 3D support at all. You can play casual games like 2048 and nothing more.

7.

The set of accessories of our budget employee is notable only for simple headphones, otherwise the equipment is standard: 0.7A charger, USB - microUSB cable, user manual and warranty card.

8.

The device charges in 2 hours via a standard charger, and an hour and a half if you take a normal human charger.

9.

The 3.5 mm headphone output and microUSB connector are on the top end, and the volume rocker and smartphone lock key are located on the left and right ends, respectively.

Under the back cover you can find a removable 1500 mAh battery, two slots for regular-sized SIM cards and a slot for a microSD card up to 32 GB.

When actively used, the phone lasts no more than five hours, and if you connect GPS, it won’t last even three.

10.

The device runs Google Android 5.1 and works quite quickly and stably. No crashes, freezes or serious glitches were noticed, which is very pleasing! But the speed of opening or installing applications sometimes forces you to refill your tea several times...

According to tradition, the first thing you need to do is update Android System WebView so that other applications from PlayMarket will start.

11.

The first slot (right) can operate in 2G/3G mode, and is locked for Tele2 SIM cards, and the second slot is only GSM standard, and it is impossible to change software slots from 3G. But then, it works with any operta! Although usually branded camera devices have single slots. Tele2 was a pleasant surprise.

12.

I was glad to have an FM radio, but it turned out to be bad... I connected three headphones - there was interference everywhere, killing the desire to turn on the radio again %(.

The 3G speed test (here is the basic version, without UMTS technology with the HSPA add-on.) shows no more than 5 Mbit... Social. networks, mail work fine, but if you need to download something heavy or watch Youtube, we are looking for Wi-FI.

13.

I first ran the GPS Test in my apartment, but alas. I had to go outside. As soon as I did this, the smartphone connected to 6 satellites, and then to the seventh. The position determination accuracy was about 5 meters. Before the second test, I rebooted my smartphone, walked a hundred meters to the side and ran GPS Test again. 10 satellites were found immediately, 9 of them were constantly used by the smartphone. Location accuracy is 3.5 meters. The search speed, connection and stability in motion by today's standards leave much to be desired, but I think if you want, you can find a place on the windshield where everything will work as it should.

Unfortunately, there was no time to measure the cold start time. We can only add that Tele2 Mini uses A-GPS technology, which speeds up the “cold start” of the GPS receiver.

For the convenience of subscribers, the device is additionally pre-installed with the operator’s proprietary applications: Tele2 TV and “My Tele2”.

14.

The built-in memory is 4Gb, but only 1.1 GB is available... A 16 GB SD card will be more than enough. A small problem with Instagram - the top status bar disappears... But in 3D cards, everything works.

Setting up a SIM card and their priorities are standard.

15.

The pain point of all budget devices is cheap TFT-TN matrices with small viewing angles. Tele2 Mini has just this one installed. It is especially annoying when you look at the screen, and the image visible with one eye is different from that visible with the other eye. Display colors become distorted even when the screen angle changes slightly. This effect manifests itself to a greater extent in landscape orientation, which is exactly the position in which we watch videos and films. Obviously, the 4-inch Tele2 Mini display is not very suitable for “movie shows”, and watching something on such a screen together is completely unpleasant.

The pictures show a comparison at maximum brightness with the Lenovo Vibe X2, 5" Full HD IPS OGS screen, which is not the best in its class by the way, looks just brilliant!

16.

In cloudy winter weather, the maximum screen brightness was more than enough. In the summer, under the bright sun, it may be difficult to read the information on the display.

The touch screen is standard for this class of devices. This is probably the minimum below which using a smartphone is already objectively unpleasant. The multi-touch test determined a maximum of 2 touches. Moreover, if your fingers are on the same horizontal line, the phone software will average their position and recognize it as 1 touch.

17.

The back of the Tele2 Mini is notable for the material used for the battery compartment cover; it looks like black velvet. To the touch it’s just a pleasant matte plastic with a fine mesh. Fingerprints do not readily remain on such a surface, and dirt does not collect.

At the top there is a large eye of the main camera, bordered by “chrome” plastic and a flash LED. At the bottom there are two long speaker holes and the “Tele2” logo.

It is worth noting that the slots for the speaker are located on the flat surface of the back cover, and there are no special “bumps” to create a gap. Therefore, when the smartphone is lying on the table, the sound will be greatly muffled.

18.

The main camera is not bad. It has good, believable color reproduction, but since its resolution is only 2 megapixels, the pictures inevitably suffer from low detail. But what do you want for 1890 rubles? But in 2016, such pictures already look quite archaic.
In good lighting, you can even try to take a photo of the text, but only for reading the screen. Programs for digitizing text cannot cope with photographs of this quality.

19.

Ultra-budget smartphones are not chosen for the quality of the camera or the cool large display. They simply do not have all this, and cannot have it. They are bought based on the lowest cost and want to get the highest quality, reliable and convenient device possible for the money. It’s clear that it’s impossible to make candy for 1,890 rubles. But Tele2 turned out to have a smartphone that fully corresponds to its price, and the second SIM slot makes it possible to insert any operator: a very kind gesture from the Swedes!

In terms of technical characteristics, Tele2 Mini is similar to other operator smartphones in this price category (for example, MTS SMART Start 2, but it is 900 rubles more expensive).
This means weak cameras, bad screens, weak GPS and little memory. But Tele2 Mini has perfectly optimized firmware, which is very pleasing and smoothes out unpleasant moments in use.

Therefore, you should make a choice, first of all, based on the final cost of the devices (telecom operators often have discounts and promotions on their gadgets) and the ease of use of the new operator for you personally. And if, of course, you manage to find a Tele2 Mini on sale, the first batches are so scattered that people are signing up in line!!!

General characteristics

Type

Deciding on the type of device (phone or smartphone?) is quite simple. If you need a simple and inexpensive device for calls and SMS, it is recommended to choose a telephone. A smartphone is more expensive, but it offers a wide variety of options: games, videos, the Internet, thousands of programs for all occasions. However, its battery life is significantly less than that of a regular phone.

Almost all modern smartphones have Wi-Fi and USB interfaces. Bluetooth and IRDA are a little less common. Wi-Fi is used to connect to the Internet. USB is used to connect your phone to a computer. Bluetooth is also found in many phones. It is used to connect wireless headphones, to connect your phone to wireless speakers, and also to transfer files. A smartphone equipped with an IRDA interface can be used as a universal remote control. Glossary of terms for the category Mobile phones

Memory and processor

CPU

Modern phones and smartphones usually use special processors - SoC (System on Chip, system on a chip), which, in addition to the processor itself, houses the graphics core, memory controller, input/output device controller, etc. Therefore, the processor largely determines the set of functions and device performance.

Tele2, better known as a telecom operator, succumbed to trends and began producing its own smartphones. Like other companies in this area, Tele2 started in the budget segment. Their products do not claim high performance, speed, and so on. Simplicity, build quality and reliability are the main parameters of the new product. And also the cost. In this review you will find out the characteristics of the Tele2 Mini 3G smartphone, get your impressions of using the device and much more.

Characteristics of the Tele2 Mini mobile phone

This device does not seek to break performance records or surprise you with modern technologies. Everything that is in it was invented a long time ago and was relevant several years ago. The smartphone is like a real workhorse: it has everything for the average mobile phone user. Let's look at the characteristics of the device:

  • The smartphone is manufactured by the Chinese company Haier Electrical Appliances;
  • Android operating system version 5.1 with Lollipop shell installed;
  • Screen with a diagonal of 4 inches and a resolution of 800 by 480 pixels;
  • Has two cameras. The main one is 2MP, and the front one is 0.3MP;
  • 2-core processor;
  • 4GB of built-in memory for storing personal data;
  • Support for two SIM cards;
  • Supports wireless data transfer using Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi interfaces.

In general, in terms of technical equipment, the device is as budget as possible. All components are selected to perform simple smartphone functions.

Review of the configuration of the Tele2 Mini smartphone

The device is sold in a small black box with the model name and company logo. The equipment of the device is quite standard for the budget segment. In the box you will find a charger, a USB cable that is used to connect to the PC and for the charging unit, a user manual, headphones and the phone itself. Don't expect to get quality headphones with your phone. The manufacturer added them to the package more likely for making calls rather than listening to music, since the sound quality is frankly weak. However, its analogue, which is MTS Smart Start 2, cannot even boast of having a headset in the basic kit.

Design Tele2 Mini

The diversity in the budget smartphone segment is amazing. However, not many manufacturers can surprise you with the appearance of the device. A miracle did not happen in the case of Tele2 Mini. From the front, the device looks like any other Android smartphone. Below the screen there are three touch buttons, traditional for this operating system. In the center of the back panel there is a window with a camera and flash. Below is a hole for the speaker. The designers did not copy the style of competitive models and added their own touches. Thus, the smartphone does not look like a point-and-shoot with rounded corners (which is typical for most budget cell phones).

It is worth noting the build quality. All parts of the case fit perfectly, there are no extra cracks or gaps. The back cover is quite dense, so it cannot be pressed through. The smartphone does not slip out of your hands, so you don't have to worry about falls.

Tele2 Mini phone display

The Tele2 Mini smartphone has a 4-inch diagonal screen with a modest resolution of 800 by 480 pixels (TFT matrix). To the surprise of many, even with such a matrix, the phone manages to produce acceptable picture quality for its price category. There is no need to talk about the complete absence of distortion and accurate color reproduction, but by adjusting the brightness to suit you, you will not experience discomfort. The screen, although capacitive, responds to only two simultaneous touches. The screen coating was not very good: the finger does not glide well when scrolling.

Tele2 Mini phone camera characteristics

Both cameras are very simple and do not have a wide range of settings and modes. The most important advantage is the interface and control when shooting. Everything is extremely accessible and understandable; you can change the mode or resolution in just one click. In good daylight, you can achieve good quality pictures from the main camera. The interesting thing is that the frames from the front camera are practically no different in quality from the main one.

Battery Tele2 Mini

The smartphone has a removable battery with a capacity of 1500 mAh. It would seem that the budget Tele 2 Mini has enough capacity, but this is not so. With constant use throughout the day (surfing the Internet, music, filming, calls, etc.), a full battery charge will last a little more than a day. If you turn down the brightness, the smartphone will last about a couple of days in standby mode. Overall, not bad. But this device is positioned as an affordable and trouble-free phone. This operating time can be forgiven for top-end models, but not for budget models.

Tele2 Mini performance review

Test results show that the Tele2 Mini's performance would have been quite good about 2 years ago. At the time of 2016, the indicators look very sad. The new device has 512MB of RAM. This is too little for stable operation of most modern applications, not to mention games. However, the operating system itself works flawlessly: all scrolling and system applications work smoothly and do not slow down.

The built-in hard drive capacity is also absolutely not enough. Of the 4GB, almost half is occupied by the operating system. You can't do this without purchasing an additional memory card.

Verdict

The creators themselves give a description of the Tele2 Mini smartphone: “a smartphone is like a smartphone, nothing unusual.”

This phrase exactly describes this device. You can purchase the device for 2,490 rubles. The phone justifies its price tag 100% percent. The only disappointing thing is the weak battery. And some things may even pleasantly surprise you – the quality of the pictures and the image on the screen. You can read an overview of how to root Tele2 Mini in the next article. On the site you will also find materials about the intricacies

The telecommunications company Tele2 offers its users not only a wide range of high-quality and inexpensive communication services, but also branded devices that provide maximum comfort for voice communication and Internet surfing. One such device is the Tele2 Mini smartphone, which supports packet data transfer in the 3G standard.

In the article:

Technical characteristics of the Tele2 Mini 3G smartphone

The production facilities for the production of the Tele2 Mini smartphone are located in the city of Qingdao on the Shandong Peninsula (PRC). It is here that the factories of the Haier company are located, which is one of the hundred most influential brands on the planet and is known for its development of international standards for reliable telecommunications, household and industrial equipment.

The Tele2 Mini smartphone cannot be called innovative and powerful, but at the same time it has a professionally selected combination of functional and technical characteristics. For greater convenience, we have collected them in a separate table:

In addition, the phone has a built-in FM radio function, but due to the lack of an integrated antenna, you will need a headset to listen to the broadcast subband. Now let’s take a closer look at the description of the most important Tele2 Mini characteristics.

Basic equipment

The smartphone comes in a stylish black box, which has white markings of the model and mobile operator, as well as a bright blue 3G sign. Inside the box are:

  • smartphone;
  • user guide;
  • charging unit (output current 0.7 A);
  • universal USB/microUSB cord, which is used to connect the phone to both the charging unit and the computer;
  • headphones with call reception function.

It is important to note here that the headphones supplied in the kit are frankly of a budget level. They allow you to satisfactorily hear the speech of your interlocutor or the sound of the radio, but nothing more. To use the device as comfortably as possible, it is advisable to separately purchase a more ergonomic and powerful headset.

Stylistic decisions

The smartphone has a stylish and laconic design with three touch buttons under the screen, which are typical for devices with Android OS. The rounded edges of the case provide a comfortable grip and hold of the device either with the palm of your hand or with several fingers. The matte high-quality polymer of the back panel has excellent tactile comfort and eliminates the risk of the phone slipping even from a wet hand.

On the top edge of the device there are connectors for a headset and a microUSB cable. The bottom edge is equipped only with a microphone hole, which is strongly offset to the left. But left-handed subscribers should not be afraid that during a conversation my fingers will cover the microphone - this does not happen.

All elements fit perfectly together. The device has no gaps on the body and the slightest play between parts. At the top of the back cover there are “eyes” for the main camera and flash. At the bottom there is a three-row perforation for unhindered speaker sound output and the Tele2 brand logo. An elongated sound control button has found its place on the narrow side edges of the device.

Screen Features

The fairly large display of the Tele2 Mini smartphone measures 4 inches (840x480) and has a pixel density of 233 ppi and a TFT amplifier, which ensures a consistently clear, contrasting and bright image. In this case, there may be some color distortion towards the blue spectrum, which can be removed by individual settings. There are also limitations on the capacity of the touch screen, which does not support more than two touches at a time.

Main and front cameras

The low resolution of the main camera (2 MP) without autofocus allows you to take clear pictures and videos with correct color reproduction only in sufficient daylight. On the other hand, the absence of complex settings and modes allows for the fastest possible shooting without the risk of image distortion. All it takes is one or two clicks. The front camera (0.3 MP) also cannot boast of particularly high quality images and video transmission, but it copes well with the main task preset by the manufacturer - video communication.

Accumulator battery

Despite the fact that the 1,500 mAh lithium-ion battery has no memory effect and has low self-discharge, it is not capable of maintaining battery life for too long. With intensive use of the device in bright screen mode, a full battery charge lasts for 24-30 hours. If the device is used only for calls and is in standby mode most of the time, this figure increases to 48-60 hours.

For many users, such characteristics are not enough, since one of the strengths of budget smartphones is their long operating life without the need for recharging.

Performance Features

Numerous tests of the device demonstrate that the amount of RAM (512 MB) is insufficient to support the high-speed operation of many modern applications, utilities and games. At the same time, this size of RAM is quite enough for stable and fast operation of all components of the operating system and comfortable Internet surfing.

A built-in 4 GB ROM would be quite acceptable in today's realities if half of this volume were not occupied by executable files. But not everything is so critical, since the smartphone supports microSD up to 32 GB.

Interaction with operator towers

One of the strengths of the Tele2 Mini phone is its ability to maintain stable data transmission and maintain the network in force majeure conditions: basements, bad weather, significant distance from the tower. In this aspect, the built-in antenna of a budget smartphone is in many ways superior to analogues from the premium segment. The device also features high-quality interaction with Wi-Fi networks, with almost no signal loss.

Finally

The online assistant site hopes that this review of Tele2 Mini characteristics will help you make an informed decision about purchasing a device. Additionally, I would like to note the survivability of the phone, which is able to withstand significant impacts and falls without destroying the case, cracking the display, or causing software applications to fail. This factor, combined with a pleasant design, reliable operation and low price, makes the Tele2 Mini smartphone a profitable and rational purchase with a long service life.

Video: review of the Tele2 Mini smartphone

This conclusion is confirmed by numerous reviews on the Internet, in which owners of the device note its durability, ergonomics, ease of control and unpretentiousness. We have also prepared for you a thematic video review of this model so that you can more rationally evaluate the appearance and functionality of the device.
