Xiaomi system applications. Instructions for removing system applications without Root rights

If you've ever found your phone's memory full of unused apps, don't worry: we've got something to help clean up your phone!

To remove pre-installed (native) applications on your smartphone, you do not need to have Root rights. To do this, you just need a phone with USB debugging enabled and drivers installed, a USB cable, a special ADB/fastboot Tools program and a computer where we will install it.

You do all actions at your own peril and risk! Migid does not bear any responsibility for your smartphone!

Activating developer mode

To activate developer mode, go to “Settings” - “About phone” - click on “MIUI Version” 8 times in a row. “You have become a developer” will appear at the bottom.

Enabling USB Debugging

Next, go to “Settings” – “Advanced Settings” – “For Developers” and click on “USB Debugging”.

Installing the ADBFastbootTools program

Uninstalling a third-party application

If the application you need is not in the list, click on “Add custom apps”. Enter the package name and click “Done!”

We find the application we need and click on “Uninstall”.

How to find out the application package name?

If to remove an application without root rights, you need to know the package name, then go to “Settings” -> “All applications”. We select the application that we want to delete, in the window that opens, click on the “i” icon (located at the top right). Next, look for “Package name” and enter it into the program.

Miui firmware for Android latest versions. And with the latest update, users started having problems using basic functions. Due to the fact that some basic elements have changed their location.
One of the global problems was the removal of applications from miui 8.0.

Via Play market

If you installed your application through Playmarket, then deleting it should not cause any problems. To do this, launch Playmarket - in the search bar, select the application you want to delete. Next, go to the menu and select “delete”. Next, playmarket will automatically remove the application without unnecessary hassle, and clean out all the garbage behind it

Through special software

The second option will require installing the CCleaner application, which is designed to clean your smart device of unnecessary debris. To do this, install the application via playmarket or via w3bsit3-dns.com - after which we find the required application in the menu - and delete it

By system means

The last method does not require any additional manipulations or installation of third-party software. In the new miui 8.0, deleting applications is located in the same place as in the standard Android OS. Therefore, to delete it, you need to go to the phone menu and select the settings item. Next we find in the “applications” sub-item.
In the drop-down list, we find the application of interest for deletion. We go inside it and select the “delete data” option. After the main data has been deleted, you can click on the “delete” button.

Bottom line

Miui 8.0, although different from its predecessors, the developers still tried to make its interface as intuitive as possible and prevent the creation of such situations. Therefore, deleting applications should not cause difficulties for advanced Android users.
If you need to remove several applications, then to do this you need to repeat the operation for each application manually, or in the Ccleaner program select all the applications you need to remove.

Note:

If the application is a system application, then it is impossible to remove it using the methods described above. To remove system applets, use superuser rights, which can be obtained without losing the warranty of your smart equipment.

Below is a list of those programs that you can remove without risk of system damage, as well as a brief description of them and whether they affect the speed of the system.

To remove system applications, you will need Root rights.

  • BugReport. Sends error reports. Affects the speed of the device.
  • CloudPrint. Virtual printer application. Does not affect speed.
  • Email. A completely acceptable email client from Xiaomi. If you use it, then there is simply no point in deleting it. Well, if you use a third-party email client, then feel free to delete it.
  • Fasdormancy. This feature is only available to select European and Asian mobile operators. Read about it on the Internet and check whether your mobile operator supports it. No - delete it. Affects speed.
  • FingerprintService. The second branded virtual printer from Xiaomi. Does not affect speed.
  • MiLinkService. A very useful application from Xiaomi that allows MIUI devices to exchange files with each other. If you don't use it, delete it. Does not affect speed.
  • PrintSpooler. Special stamps used with virtual printers. Does not affect speed.
  • QuikSearchBox. Xiaomi's proprietary search, which opens by swiping down from the top of the screen. It's a little awkward to use, so you can remove it. Does not affect speed.
  • StepsProvider. Addition to the pedometer application. Affects speed.
  • Stk. Service menu from the mobile operator. If your operator does not support this function, you can delete it. Affects speed.
  • Updater. Allows you to update the firmware, and very often bothers you with its reminders. Feel free to delete it. It does not affect the speed, but rather the usability of the smartphone.
  • Whetstone. Send error reports that relate to the processor. Often the application “wakes up” the smartphone - we can safely delete it. Affects speed.

Some standard programs that can also be removed are located in the directory system/priv-app. Let's go there and look:

  • Browser. Official Xiaomi browser. Contains too much “Chinese” - you can delete it and install an alternative. Does not affect speed.
  • Viset. Russian browser, which is only available in some firmwares. If you also have it installed, it’s better not to uninstall it, since it is completely Russified, has a lot of settings and works quite quickly. Does not affect speed.
  • CellBroadcastReceiver. Alert to emergencies that are most common in Asia. Affects speed.
  • GoogleFeedBack. Official Google reviews. Affects speed.
  • Shell. A component of the MIUI operating system, which contains data about the operation of the shell (error reports, etc.), and then sends them to some server. Can be deleted. Affects speed.
  • YellowPage. Yellow Pages program. Shows information about your corporate accounts. Affects speed.
  • Weather. Weather forecast server. Quite a good program, the interface is nice, there are a lot of settings. Not for everybody. Does not affect speed.

The Redmi 4x smartphone from the Chinese company Xiaomi pleases its owners with a sophisticated design, 5-inch display and high performance, but has a long list of pre-installed applications. In most cases, more convenient analogues of these programs are used, so the question among owners of Xiaomi Redmi 4x, how to remove Google applications, arises quite often. There are two ways to do this: without root rights and with them.

Do not forget that obtaining “superuser” rights may lead to loss of warranty on the device.

Method one

The easiest and safest way is to install a special free application, Activity Launcher. It contains a large number of changeable parameters of the Android operating system, with which you can optimize your smartphone. You can find it on Google Play.

To disable the standard application, you need to launch the Activity Launcher and at the top of the screen change the “Recent actions” item to “All actions”.

After this, you need to go to the “Settings” section in Russian (not “Settings”)

and select “All applications” (com.android.settings.applications.ManageApplications).

A list of applications installed on the device will open, including Google services.

Once you select an application, you can disable it in the standard way, the same as in the Xiaomi Redmi menu. This will stop the program and remove its updates. In this way you can disable any applications.

The advantage of this method is that the program will not be removed from the source directory, and if an error occurs, the application can be activated.

If you want not only to disable services, but also to get rid of them forever, then you need to use the second method.

Method two

To completely remove system applications from Xiaomi Redmi 4, you must have root rights and an unlocked bootloader. Changing system directories may result in the device becoming inoperable and requiring flashing.

The official Xiaomi portal provides a function to unlock the bootloader of any device. To do this you need to have a Mi Account. When filling out the request, indicate the reason for unlocking: To install localized firmware. The application will be reviewed within 3 days.

After unlocking the bootloader you must:

  1. Install MiPhoneManager and MiFlashUnlock programs on your PC.
  2. Update your phone firmware to the latest weekly.
  3. Link your device to Mi Account. To do this, you need to select the “Device Information” item in the settings and click on “MIUI Version” 7 times - the developer menu will be unlocked. Then, in the “Advanced” section, select “For Developer” and enable factory unlocking. When you go to “Mi Unlock Status”, a window for adding an account will appear.
  4. Launch the MiFlashUnlock program using your Mi account.
  5. With the device turned off, hold down the power button and volume down until the hare appears (Fastboot mode). After that, connect the device to the PC and click “Unlock”.

Installing TWRP for Redmi 4x:

  1. Install the latest version of TeamWin Recovery for your device on your PC.
  2. In Fastboot mode, connect the phone to the PC, run TWRP.bat and follow the instructions. After flashing, the device will reboot in TWRP mode.
  3. Go to the “Advanced” section, then “Tools” and select “Disable Verify”. If you skip this step, the device will not start and will require flashing.

Obtaining root rights:

  1. Download the latest version of SuperSU to your phone.
  2. Go to TeamWin recovery (with the smartphone turned off, hold down the power button and both volume buttons).
  3. In the “Install” section, select SuperSU and install. The phone will reboot several times and start with activated root rights, and the SuperSU application will appear on the desktop.

After this, you need to install a file manager with access to system files: Root Browser, ES Explorer, File Manager by Rhythm Software, etc. Before removing system programs, it is recommended to make a backup copy of the system.

Complete removal of the application:

  1. From the “/system/app” directory, remove the unnecessary application folder with .apk and .odex files.
  2. Remove the folder with updates from the “/data/app” section.
  3. Delete cache from “/data/data”.

What system applications can be removed

Removing unnecessary applications on Xiaomi will save mobile Internet traffic, space and RAM. But some system utilities cannot be deleted! These include: system clock, boot loaders, installers, drivers, interfaces, standard backup, system storage and explorer. Most of them are indicated by Android icons.

System applications on Miui that can be deleted: Chinese services (AlipayMsp, GameCenter, GuardProvider, MiShop), AntiSpam, live wallpapers (Galaxy4, HoloSpiralWallpaper, LiveWallpapers, VisualizationWallpapers), browsers, calendars, any Google applications, FM radio, players, notes , weather services (Weather, WeatherProvider). Removing them does not affect the integrity of the operating system.

A test menu will open, with which you can conduct a full test of your smartphone.

After passing all tests, you should back up the system.

Modern smartphones from Xiaomi have the widest range of functionality and can cope with almost any task set before them as mobile devices. However, difficulties often arise when using devices - slow/incorrect operation. The article describes in detail how MIUI 8 is optimized by properly configuring the phone, as well as through the use of standard/installed software.

Basic optimization methods

If your smartphone running MIUI 8 is very slow, then you need to perform the following 7 actions from the list below:

  1. The shell must be updated to the latest version. Today, for example, Xiaomi Redmi 3 and other devices from this manufacturer can be updated to version MIUI 8.1.1.0. To update, you need to connect to the Internet, and then enter the corresponding menu called “Update”.
  1. Now you need to go to the standard Security application. Optimization is performed by clicking on the “Optimize” button. Upon completion of this process, the device will issue a report on the work done (the amount of cache memory cleared, the number of protected applications) indicating the most dangerous areas in the system (the most energy-consuming applications, changed default settings).

  1. If your phone slows down when switching between menus or while opening windows, you can try turning off the animation. There are two main ways.
  • You need to go to the “Settings” menu – “Battery and performance”, disabling system animation in the corresponding item.

  • Go to “Settings” – “About phone”, click on “MIUI Version” until the device notifies you that developer mode has been activated.

  • After this, you need to go to the “Settings” - “Advanced” - “For Developers” section and in the “Drawing” block configure the animation as you wish.

  1. Setting up applications that start automatically is also very important. You can control autorun settings by going to “Security” – “Permissions”, and then selecting “Autorun” to disable the launch of certain applications at system startup. You can limit the number of background applications through the same developer menu as described in point 3.

  1. MIUI can also be optimized by increasing the level of system memory cleaning. Still in the same developer menu, you must select the “Optimize system memory” item, setting it to a higher value.

  1. One of the extreme measures is to completely remove applications if the system memory is at its maximum level. You can delete them: through the main screen (you need to hold the shortcut and drag it to the trash can, which will appear at the top of the screen);

  • In the second case, you can not delete the application, but clear its data if there are suspicions that the system slowdown is caused precisely by the operation of this software. Through the menu “Settings” - “All applications”.

  1. Finally, the last method, also known as “as a last resort.” If the system cannot be optimized, then it should be reset to the factory configuration. This procedure is performed through “Settings” – “Advanced” – “Backup and reset” – “Reset settings”. The bottom line is that the device will be completely cleared of any entered information and settings made while working with it after the initial firmware at the manufacturer. Accordingly, you should first copy the data to external media, or make a backup copy of it on a synchronized Mi account.

Alternative methods

Also, more fine-tuning can be done for a smartphone from Xiaomi. It was already indicated above that you have access to the developer menu. Having entered it, you should pay attention to the point where hardware rendering acceleration is enabled. This method is a pure experiment: the user must track for himself whether the enabled setting will be effective, since there may be no effect or it will be the opposite (the system will slow down even more).

Installation of special software. Again, the result is not guaranteed, since one of the most popular applications that solve the described problem, Clean Master, has almost the same functionality as the standard “Security” menu. However, it's worth a try, since different approaches developers take to the cleaning process can give different results.

Other factors that can affect system speed:

  • number of desktops - you can check if you pinch the screen with three fingers at once (pull them together). Unnecessary screens should be removed;

  • number of widgets - do not forget that each “picture” creates an additional load, and each information module (widget) requires part of the memory to update the data displayed on it;
  • “live” wallpapers also put a strain on the device’s processor and battery
  • Auto-updates in the Play Market must be disabled. After launching the application, you need to slide out the tab on the right and go to “Settings”. At the topmost point, you should set the value to “Never” to auto-update all applications that are downloaded to your smartphone;

  • A completely full device memory can negatively affect performance; always keep 100-200 MB free;
  • For experienced users who have root on the device, it is possible to freeze and even delete system services and miui and Xiaomi applications, which will have a positive effect on the freed up processor and battery resources. It is worth warning that this method is very dangerous for your smartphone.

Bottom line

The article discusses in detail the optimization of Xiaomi Redmi and Mi models, and all the proposed methods work with other devices running MIUI 8. Monitor your smartphone constantly, since good prevention eliminates the occurrence of problems and the need for optimization.
