Google Chrome download in Russian for Crimea. How to download from Play Market in Crimea: the simplest methods

One of our readers (thank you, Artem) informed us about the problem faced by the residents of Crimea. We are talking about the inability to install extensions from Chrome Web Store, as well as himself Google browser Chrome via online installer. Read more...

It all started with the fact that some Google users Chrome started complaining on the support forum about the inability to install extensions from Chrome Web Store. You can see the error in the screenshot above. No one could offer any ways to get around it.

Then it turned out that the problem also occurs when trying to install the browser itself through a regular online installer. When running the installer, the following problem occurred:

And again no one understood the reason. This problem would have gone down in history if not for one user who suggested that the problem lay in his location.

All other users with the problem immediately confirmed this theory. Among the victims are users of such providers as EliteNET, Ukrtelecom, Krelcom, RealWeb. Moreover, in some cases and on some subnets the problem is not observed. If you change the Crimean IP to any other, the problem disappears.

On this moment the source of the problem has not been found, and users from Crimea continue to encounter it (that is, for about the third day already). How can I solve this problem? To install the browser, you just need to download not an online installer, but a full-fledged offline one (you can find it). But to install extensions, you will need to hide your IP, for example, using a VPN. For ordinary users This is not such a simple way, so it’s easier to just wait for the problem to be resolved.

To install the browser Google Chrome, bypassing the error message, you need to change the IP address of your Internet connection. You can do this by creating a VPN connection to any free server. For VPN creation connections on your computer, please do the following:

1. Open the menu Start -> Control Panel -> Network and Sharing Center shared access and here click on the link Setting up a new connection or network ,as in the picture.

2. In the window that opens, select Connection to the workplace , following the image example and click Further .

3. In the new window, select Use my connection , example in the figure.

4. Enter the details of the server you will connect to (in my example, this is a British server ukpptp-hotfreevpn.com). In field Name you don't need to write anything. Click Further . An example in the image below.

5. In line User And Password Enter login ( free) and password ( 1234 ), click To plug , using the screenshot as an example.

If you did everything correctly, you will receive a notification that Connection established .

Now you need to check if everything was done correctly. To do this, launch the browser, open the site 2ip.ru and agree with using a VPN server by clicking on the button I AGREE in the center of the screen as shown in the figure. This will open the portal VPN servers.

Reopen the portal 2ip.ru and check your location like the image below.

Launch the Google Chrome browser and wait automatic update before latest version. If necessary, check the version via Settings , example in the screenshot.

By updating your browser to current version, don't forget to disconnect from your VPN to minimize problems with traffic that will now go through England. An example in the figure. Enjoy your use.

Sanctions against Crimea were supported by the global giant of the IT industry - Google, excluding the possibility of updating Chrome in Crimea. On February 1, they closed access to adsense, analytics, adwords and many other company products. But you can bypass the restriction using, but what about the update? Chrome browser? After all, the update is carried out not through the website, but directly from Google servers.

My old friend asked me a question on Twitter:

As promised, I’m writing an article on this topic. At the time of writing, my browser was updated to version 40.0.2214.93 m. When I opened the browser information, I saw the following message:

The update failed (error 7). An error occurred while checking for updates. The installation failed due to access restrictions in this country.

Judging by this message, Google recognizes Crimea as a separate state? It's funny, but oh well...

To update your browser, you need to change the existing IP address of your Internet connection. For this we will use VPN connection to one of the free servers.

I found , which has a small selection of servers that you can easily connect to and work as if you were connected from another country.

Open “ Start ” — “Control Panel ” — “Network and Sharing Center "click on" Setting up a new connection or network

Select “ Connection to the workplace

Select “ Use my connection

Enter the address of the server to which we will connect (I chose an English server). The name can be left as default

Enter your username and password and click “ To plug

After successful connection, you will see the message:

Great! Now let's check. Open your browser and enter the address 2ip.ru, a site will open where you need to agree to the use of a VPN server (this page will open when you open any site). Click “ I AGREE” – the VNP server website will open

Now open the 2ip.ru website again and pay attention to your location

Great! Now open the “About Browser” page and lo and behold... An update is in progress.

The method described above has one significant drawback. If during installation your connection to the Internet is interrupted, the whole process will have to start over. In addition, it is impossible to install a browser in this way if there is no network connection at all.

To solve such troubles, a special autonomous Google distribution Chrome, which does not require Internet access. You can download it from the link https://www.google.com/chrome/browser/desktop/index.html?standalone=1.
