You can fill out the fields that appear, then click “Assign as manager.”

How to change group owner

If you have created a community, but no longer want to be its owner and need to transfer powers to another person, then go into it, click on the three horizontal dots under the avatar and select “Manage community” from the list.

In the menu on the right, go to the “Participants” tab. There is a small nuance here: you first need to appoint a person as an admin, and then make him the owner of the group.

Therefore, we look for the desired user in the list and make him the group administrator, as described in the previous paragraph. Then open this list again and opposite the desired person, click on the “Edit” button.

In the window that opens, at the very bottom there will be a button “Assign as owner” - click on it.

If you are determined to change the owner of the group, then read the information provided and click “Change owner”.

How to remove an administrator

If you have several administrators assigned to your group and some of them do absolutely nothing, then they need to be removed. We go to the group, click on the three horizontal dots under the avatar and select “Community Management” from the list.

Go to the “Participants” tab, find the desired user and click on the “Demote” button opposite him.

Making an administrator from the phone

If you are more accustomed to logging into VKontakte through an installed mobile application on your phone or tablet, then find yours in the list of communities and click on it.

To complete the operation, save the completed action and move on to the next step - entering the password for your page and confirming the action.

You can check the “Display in contacts block” checkbox and fill out additional information, this participant will appear on the main page in the corresponding block.

What you need to know when changing ownership

When making such a decision, it is very important to understand all the details and be familiar with all the nuances. We will list everything below.

The community must have no more than 100,000 subscribers (if there are more, the transfer will not be possible);
You must be the creator (not the admin/moderator) of this public or club;
Transfer is possible unless the owner has changed in the last 2 weeks and no suspicious activity has been detected there by the social network;
VKontakte prohibits trading in communities (if suddenly someone somehow proves the opposite to the administration of the social network, they will be banned);
Changing the topic of the public is strictly prohibited (it doesn’t matter whether it was changed before or after the transfer of rights - it will be blocked);
The old owner who transferred the rights can revoke them within 14 days, thereby returning the given page back.

An administrator who left a group can be forgotten, and if he were to suddenly return with full rights, he could do some bad things.

The owner is the creator of the community or one of its administrators to whom the creator has transferred his rights. This is a critical element of your community.

You cannot take the security of the owner’s page lightly; there is a risk of losing access to the group forever. The owner is the same administrator as others, but only from him other administrators cannot take away the rights to the group, and only he can transfer the owner rights to another administrator. In addition, only the owner can carry out some actions to manage the community - for example, transfer the group to public and back.

Take care of the owner's account. Its page should always be linked to a valid phone number. Follow all safety precautions.
Don’t do anything on behalf of the owner’s page that could get you blocked. Do not break the rules of VK: do not send spam, invitations to the group.
Even if you don't use the owner's page, you should receive all the messages that come in private and be able to respond to them.
